The thing about that seal is that Kishi is deliberately making Danzou to be a shade of gray. He has not done enough for the audience to say that he is evil and yet he has done somethings that make him seem like he could be. I wouldn't be surprised if he really turned out to be a good thing for the village and for Naruto's character growth. The way things are going though he is being setup to fail as both of the main characters have a grudge against him. And another thing, that seal is pretty far back on the tongue. What did they have to do to get that back there? And it must have hurt like hell. I guess that is one of the initiation rights of becoming a root ninja. I still say that the man has something to hide that warrants that type of thing.
