He has not done enough for the audience to say that he is evil and yet he has done somethings that make him seem like he could be. I wouldn't be surprised if he really turned out to be a good thing for the village and for Naruto's character growth. I disagree with this. He has not shown anything to say that he is as evil as say Orochimaru yet, but he has done some pretty wicked things. E.G. killing that toad in cold blood that was supposed to send for Naruto. In the Naruto world these Toads have just as much mind and heart as a person does, which essentially makes him a murderer, and for what? So that he could prove that he was right? Doesn't he also instruct some Konoha ninja not to help defend Konoha against Pain because he hopes that Pain's actions will help him to overthrow Tsunade? Ninjas kill, so what? Decisions have to be made all the time and one life means nothing to the death of many as part of the ninja millitary. Just look at the Hyuuga and the third's decision. Nothing there makes the third better than anything we saw Danzou already did. Danzou wanting to be Hokage is still up there as "good" in being that he wants Konoha to be controlled the right way. Overthrowing a messed up leadership may seem to be a right decision right? Similar to what we want to see Naruto do. Overthrow Danzou the one who will destroy Konoha. Danzou could say the same exact thing for the Third and Tsunade. ^_^ . Quote: You CAN argue that he is a nessicary evil. Even that he would be a better Hokage then Tsunade if you wish. Unless they just got those seals in quick succession, in some tent, Sai should of died sometime ago, seeing as he definitely did give out classified information.
