For those site readers who also submit information to the Naruto Wiki, please refrain from using our images on Wikipedia for bios shots, etc. I had taken the time to clean up most of the images in some way, and to see our work reused is really annoying. It lessens the originality of the images on our site and I want readers to know we originated that particular shot or screen capture, rather than believing we ripped it off from the Wiki. I do realize that for some characters there are a limited number of shots, but for these I have typically cleaned up and edited the shot anyway so it is better for OUR site readers. Take the Mahiru shot for instance, notice who is missing? It's the kunai being held to Mahiru's throat by Yondaime Hokage. It was edited to help focus on Mahiru and remove a potential spoiler. I did the work for this site, not the Wiki. |

couldnt you make an account yourself and change the pictures? i mean if it comes to that anyways... just as a note: soime people get the pics from sites that got the pics from LN so they dont know that they actually took it from you... -------------------- but drunkenmaster is right... only with leafblowers instead of garden rakes... get with the new equipment c'mon |

I'd rather the problem just take care of itself. I'd rather not have to keep taking an active role removing the content. Hopefully people will read this topic and people will watch out for it in the future. |

agreed. actually, it was thanks to wikipedia that I found this site. i think its important to give credit where its due, and its important for wiki-viewers to click the link to leafninja at the bottom of each wiki (external links) who want to access all the wonderful work done by shikamaru and all the others. |

I had already been to LN because Google searches gave me hits from it, but I never really noticed that I kept getting all of the good info from the same site until I read the Wiki piece about Kakashi Gaiden. They linked to LN and I thought, "Oh good! I'll even MORE in-depth about Gaiden!" (at the time, I hadn't read it myself.) Then as I read the LN chappy summaries page with those chapters, I realized, "Hey! This is the same stuff that Wiki has, only worded the tiniest bit differently!" At first I thought LN ripped off Wiki, but then I looked around LN a little bit more and realized that the genius who created all of the articles on LN had written the original chappy summaries. Besides, only cheapskates rip off Wiki. :P I agree, it's important to give credit where credit is due. However, it is NOT cool to steal edited images. Like the almighty saan-sama (don't ask) said, Wiki gets it from a site who got it from a site who got it from a site who got it from LN. Because of this, it would be hard to track down the original editor (Shikamaru, the genius). I can see why you don't want to get involved with contacting Wiki about it, Shikamaru -- if the problem can be avoided at an earlier stage than that, it would be more trouble than it's worth. *sigh* If only most people on the web were as honorable and fair as our Shikamaru-sama. |

If people keep stealing images just watermark them. Placing a simple LN logo upon any picture you make is a good deterrent. |

Good idea, but a lot of work. And the watermark would have to be big enough so it could not be easily removed. Also trying to keep the integrity of the picture, without "branding" it with a logo to a point of annoyance is almost impossible as well. But i'm sure there would be a few of us LN member that could take some of that load off your back, if you did decided to take this route. I've got Photoshop and a lot of spare time. :D |

I inspired this thread ;/ I feel a little bit ashamed. Well, yeah, its not a good thing, and Shika, I don't think this thread will affect the problem other than creating other solutions. I've been a LN user long before I created an account, and even by that time, I didn't really look around the forums much. You have to go directly to the Admins at Wikapedia and get this mess sorted out, its good that you trying to not get involved like that, but it will have to be done sooner or later because you know these ideas will only hinder the annoyance. |

Can't you guys make the pictures unable to be saved or transferred? I mean I've been to sites for DBZ and a bunch of other things that you go to save a pic, and an error message pops up saying "Do not steal images from our site" or something to that effect. However, that wouldn't stop someone from hitting the "Print Screen" button and editing the pictures in paint. |

Wow whoever stole it must be either 1) pricks 2) Just want to make their life easier by using yours as a basis 3) Can't do jack for themselves or 4) Think that since they posted it they did all the work when you actually did it. There's also some other sites I saw that stole the Connection Guide too. |
