History:
Hyuuga Neji carried an extreme hatred for the main family of the Hyuuga line. He grew up believing that the main family had killed his father as a demand of Lightning Country. The Lightning Country had demanded the body of the main family's Hiashi, what they got was the body of Hiashi's twin Hizashi. After Neji's loss to Naruto in the third test of the Chuunin Exam, Hiashi Hyuuga went to Neji to let him know the truth.

Seeing Neji's abilities Hiashi realized that Neji was ready to know what had really happened in the past. Neji was then told that his father himself made the choice to sacrifice his life. As a branch family member, Hizashi, like his son Neji, had a cursed seal placed upon his forehead which forced them to protect the main family or else they would face death. Hizashi saw the demand for his brother's body and asked that they use his body instead. He did it not because of love, but because by choosing death it would have been the first choice he could have freely made in protecting Neji, his family and the village. Taking his father words to heart to choose his own destiny and Naruto's similar words during their match, Neji changed his outlook on life and seeks to better himself with a brighter hope for the future.

Neji would join Naruto, Kiba, Chouji and Shikamaru in their mission to retrieve Sasuke from Sound. Neji would square off against Sound ninja Kidoumaru. The match proved difficult and bloody, with Neji having to sacrifice his body to finally take out his opponent. He pushed himself to live up to the ideal of what other ninja saw the Hyuuga as, the best of the best, and the greatest clan in Konoha. Luckily medical ninja soon found Neji and rushed him back to the village for care. With the expert treatment of Shizune and Tsunade, his body was repaired and his life saved.

In following years Neji would continue to push his limits and perfect his skill as a ninja. He would take the Chuunin Exam and pass, and then later advance to the rank of Jounin. When Team 7 needed help in rescuing Gaara from Akatsuki, he joined his fellow teammates Gai, TenTen and Lee in traveling to the River Country. There he helped fight Hoshigaki Kisame and later his own clone created through Akatsuki's protective sealing jutsu.

neji is definitely my fave taijutsu user
I truly doubt anyone can really rival his skills in taijutsu
Gai may have a hard time
In fact,I believe that the only way Gai and Lee could really beat Neji would be if they opened the gates
Otherwise, they would need to go all out to defeat him

He's one of my favourite characters and he always seems to be able to utilise his jutsus easily. He's not so snotty anymore and his skills have much improved.

Neji's come a long way from when I first met him. Back then I thought he was both an idiot and a jerk. And he was, with his whole destiny thing. After his fight with Naruto, I find I like him a heck of a lot more (as is the case with a lot of characters) and I'm seeing that he's really grown as an individiual.

I would not relish going one-to-one against Neji. He's one badass fighter, and powerful as all hell.

I actually liked unreformed Neji even though he beat up Hinata. He was an arrogant jerk but at least he was interesting to listen to as he insulted everyone as a loser. He's a bit too nice now and I prefer him to have more conflict with Lee and Naruto.
He will be the Hyuuga heir! Hiashi is not training him for nothing.

The man is a genius, evident from his jounin promotion in the time skip.
How the heck did he even figure out the chakra control and technique required to master the MAIN HOUSE moves? That shows he really looks at the detailed things in his training.

Though new Neji is a bit normal. BUt I did like the fight with Kidomaru. That was a big turning point in character for him.

I wonder if his blind spot has been fixed?
Outside of not seeing him use ninjutu, that's the other weakness he has.

Hiashi is not training him for nothing.

Of course not, he is training him in order to make him more powerfull and thus making him better bodyguard for the heir.

As for Neji... Neji, Neji, Neji my little Neji. I really like him, he is like total opposite for Naruto. Calm thinking not hot blooded like Uzumaki. Truly a Hyuuga genius.

>>>Stupid thoughs:How ironic is that he will die protecting the ones he once hated.<<<

Oh let me intruduce myself. Hello Im very glad that finaly I was able to register correcly [dammed email account =="]. I hope i'll spend here very pleasent moments.

Great character, but arrogant before Naruto beat him. I like the Jyuuken. Neji is one of my favorite characters. I can tell that one day, he can become one of the most skilled taijutsu users, along with Lee.

Apparently a lot stronger.

He didn't see the techniques
He had developed them on his own
Like the Hakkesho Kaiten,he had discovered it on his own
He probably thought it was his own soul move until Hiashi took him in for training

Neji is one of my favorite Naruto characters. He is so strong already, and can still be even stronger. His fight against Naruto was my favorite fight in the entire series.

Neji is a great character, especially before his reformation. The conflict between him, Naruto, and Hinata remains one of the very best portions of the series (despite the fact the Neji really won rather than losing to Naruto, but such is the price of pride). Neji is the first, last, and only character to date whose major character alteration following his encounter with Naruto is truely justified. He also, unlike Gaara, still held some doubts and uncertainties about his true path following said events, and only reached a real solution after the fight with Kidomaru. In many ways Neji is the character who has developed the most throughout the series.

It's a pity the timeskip assuredly passed over critical moments in Neji's life, such as his reconcilliation with Rock Lee (assuming one has properly occurred), his rise to chunin and then jounin, the potential development of a relationshp with Tenten, and the further resolution of the conflict with his family. While Kishimoto may address some of those events with Neji in the future, it will assuredly require extensive use of flashbacks or some forceful personality stasis over the two and a half year period, which is unfortunate. more likely I think Neji (along with almost everyone outside of Team 7) is going to play an even lesser role in the series than they did in part one.

I hope that at least Team Gai is mentioned more in the manga. Still, in each team, I have a character I favor...

Neji, he's one of my favorite characters, but now, he's getting mentioned less and less...

Argh...I knew he didn't see the techinques..Sorry if my sentence was too ambiguous..He found out Main House techniques by himself..Without any guidance..That's why he's a mad genius..

They aren't main house techniques. They're Hyuuga techniques. Neji learned the Kaiten slowly on his own, and same with all the other Hyuuga jutsu. For a branch member with dead parents, he surpassed even the main house members. Incredible.
