A Genin from the village of Konoha, Uchiha Sasuke is one of the last surviving members of the Uchiha clan. Sasuke's clan were wiped out by his older brother Itachi in a test of his own skills, and to help him attain the Mangekyou Sharingan Eye. Since this incident, Sasuke's life has been influenced towards revenge in almost every step he has taken.

When his brother returned to Konoha and mocked him and his development, Sasuke turned even more morose and focused on revenge. Sasuke had sworn to kill his brother and has hesitated to form friendships with anyone around him. This didn't stop Naruto though from viewing Sasuke as a brother. When Sasuke decided to leave Konoha behind and seek more power from Orochimaru, Naruto swore to stop him. The two engaged in combat and though Sasuke wanted to break any bonds they had, he chose not to kill Naruto.

Over the next few years Sasuke enhanced his skills and pestered Orochimaru to train him further. He joined Kabuto and Orochimaru as they moved to new hideouts to avoid detection. Naruto and Sakura never gave up on getting Sasuke to return to Konoha, even now they are knocking on Orochimaru's door to get him back...

Finally. Most of what I have to say about Sasuke was put into his bio on this site - people are quick to label him angsty, cocky and the runner-up compared to Naruto.

However, I doubt most Sasuke's detractors fully understand the complexity of the character - suffering absolute tragedy before he had even reached puberty, Sasuke came out of childhood with his life's path already decided. People dislike him for labeling Naruto "dead last", but at the time, that's exactly what Naruto was and Sasuke was the #1 of his year. His angst isn't unneccessary either - while Naruto never had a family in the first place, he also never had the pain of having a family to lose, something Sasuke was given and then had stolen from him. Naruto at least has the bliss of ignorance.

Another reason people dislike Sasuke is his parallels with Orochimaru - but ultimately, both characters strive to achieve perfection. Orochimaru wants to become all-powerful, while Sasuke desires the level of power needed to avenge his clan, then reconstruct it. He is rarely hampered by his emotions, with vengeance often giving him his reason to live and forcing him to get back up in determination. Sasuke was an accident waiting to happen as far as his plans for attaining power went - it was almost inevitable that he would eventually discard the routine life he had in favour of fulfilling his ambitions.

Overall, Sasuke is relief that not all of Konoha's ninja are more concerned with being friendly and warm than actually being ninja.

Because I hate the disturbance of microcosms, I hate Sasuke. To be fair, no more than I hate Naruto or Sakura, or any other character. The ultimate pathos of the series will be in Sasuke's redemption. If Sasuke is not redeemed, then the battle against Orochimaru better be quick on the heels of Sasuke's death. The violent end of Sasuke could elevate the battle with Orochimaru to new heights.

Sasuke's presence in the story is perfect. Though it is agony to me how he cannot live and be happy with his surrogate family, connect with Iruka (or Naruto even) or Kakashi, it is that agony that is harbinger of the emotional response his character elicits from me.

Sasuke is my Claudius, and for that, I love to hate him.

Yeah, i would have thought that Sasuke would have been a lot smarter then that. He is slower then Neji and his ninjutsu is on the same level as Neji...

Sasuke is one of my favorites, especially because he is not redeemed by Naruto! I'm glad he stuck to his goal. He is one of the more psychologically complex characters and deserves more sympathy.

His intelligence is lower than Sakura's because even though he may be more tactical, she has more booksmarts and can do complex math and cyphers. That's why all those ratings should be broken down to sub-categories to be truly accurate. I don't understand why his genjutsu is rather low. He has a sharingan! That should account for more.

He'll probably end up dying by protecting Sakura, but I hope Kishi does something more original.

For about a year into my liking for Naruto, I've hated Sasuke with a solid passion. I disliked his mind-sets of wanting to slaughter his brother, Itachi. His disrespect to the other characters was very irritating, especially the attitude he grants to his superiors. All in all, he was merely a snob in my opinion, who needed a punch in the face every now and then, preferably from his older brother.

However, my judgments have been changing throughout this past month. Now, I tend to give him a little respect. It's obvious he hasn't become 'evil', and I suppose he does have the right to become an Avenger. Learning about his past, I've grown to award him an amount of sympathy. Plus, he's a hundred times better than Sai. *Shudder.*

Alas, I'm beginning to hate him again. After reading the recent chapters of his disrespect towards Orochimaru and the others, he's once again beginning to get on my nerves…

At first, I didn't like Sasuke. He seemed like an annoying rival that thinks he's smarter than anyone. More deeper into the series I started to like him more and more. He learned chidori. It may be nothing compared to Rasengan but it's still a unique jutsu. He wanted to protect Naruto against Itachi. He starts to see that he's less than Naruto which I thought was untrue. I can't believe Sasuke actually decided to go to Orochimaru for power, even though he was basically forced to.

As the season progresses, I hope that Sasuke sees Itachi once more and that Itachi will make him change his Sasuke's goals.
I don't think that killing Itachi will be a good idea. Sasuke and Itachi both had something in the past and Sasuke, despite his father's wishes, wanted to be like him. If Sasuke does get his way, which I think won't be easily accomplished, I think Sasuke will become more emotional.

Sasuke is one of my favorite characters. Its partialy because Ive always liked the rival character in a series but also because of the focus placed on him by kishimoto. Naruto is made of up two main parts. THe main one being Naruto's path through life ans the second being Sasuke's.

I don't like Sasuke as a person, really, you're not suppossed to! He's a classic example of the poisoning power of revenge and chose to consciously betray every responsibility he possessed in the pursuit of that revenge. He's arrogant attitude doesn't help either, though Sasuke has a tragic past he was born with the ninja equivalent of a silver spoon in his mouth and it shows.

However, though I don't like Sasuke as a person, I like his character as an aspect of Naruto. He's a well-crafted, multi-faceted character with both a reasonable, logical motive, and the ability to question that motive. In that way he's a much more complete character than Naruto, and might even be considered the most complete character in the series.

Given that Naruto, as the lead, is an unbelievably shallow person the vast majority of the time, its been the choices of Sasuke that have really driven the series (everything people like Orochimaru have done was set in motion long before the show began and is just sort of playing out) and probably will continue to drive it for some time. The big current question is whether or not Sasuke will be redeemed, and I think that will be, in the final analysis, where he must ultimately be evaluated. Sasuke should not return to Konoha, ever, except in a body bag. However, Naruto could still potentially redeem his former teammate to some extent, Sasuke simply must die almost immediately thereafter, it would be cliched, but could be very emotionally satisfying, while a return of Sasuke to Konoha with all his sins (including whatever horrible deeds of Orochimaru and Kabuto's he's been party to during the timeskip) forgiven must not happen. It would destroy any remaining message value to Naruto.

Unlike everyone else, (except Nez of course) Sasuke is my #1 naruto character.
He is trapped in the path of vengeance, but I think that hasn't lost his mind at all.
He is aware of Orochimaru's intentions, and regardless of the outcome of the
fight against his brother, I don't think he would jeopardise the safety of Konoha
by giving so lightly his body (thus the Sharingan) to Orochimaru.

His skills seem to have advanced (we witness his first genjutsu against Sai),
and his respect for Naruto hasn't faded a bit, as we have seen.

I hate sasuke as a person but I like his symbolism. He is somewhat like the opposite side of the coin for Orochimaru. They both wish for power, but Sasuke doesn't seem to fear death. Of course, death is a seback for his overall plans, but he isn't morbidly afraid of it like Orochimaru.

Is Orochimaru truly afraid of death?
And I have a question

How come Sasuke's Chidori looks different than Kakashi's
Kakashi's looks like a flame on his hand with electricty coming from it
Sasuke's looks like a ball of lightning (I know it isn't lightning, that's just how it looks)

Hmmmm, I think Sasuke's may be different because it is maybe weaker and less matured than Kakashi's version, thus it's diffrent in what it looks like?
I mean, look at Kakashi, he made the technique when he was what...a Chuunin? He has now had it up to when he is now a Special Jounin, think about it.
Sasuke has only had since the one-month trial period in the Chuunin exams, and up to now when he has sided with Orochimaru for power.

Is Orochimaru truly afraid of death?

Why would you make an immortality jutsu if you were fatalistic and accepted death for what it is?

Truth be told, I don't really like sasuke,There's not really any particular reason.Well I don't hate him, But he has a really lame attitude and his desperation for revenge is a little too intense, if it wasn't for his coldness, and arrogance, I'd probably really like him.I have to admit he is a good character and rival though, and he's really strong, I've gotta give him his props... :P

The way he sounds in his first or second appearance, he seems to have changed, he has become more determined and cold, maybe selfish, I can't wait to see his whole face though and his new outfit or attire. One thing hasn't really changed though, his attitude towards Naruto, I wonder what will happen when he and Sakura meet again, I bet he'll be shocked lol :P
