I'm making this to clear up some common misconceptions. To start off, the use of the word sannin. The word sannin by itself simply means three people, three ninja in this case. However, the term in Naruto is often used as sannin out of ignorance. The full title is Densetsu no sannin, meaning The Three Of Legend or The Legendary Three. It refers ONLY to Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade. They were the students of the greatest ninja to live and grew to be outstanding ninja in their own right. Sannin is NOT a rank and calling someone "A sannin" makes no sense. Also, the word Sennin means a sage or hermit. The term really only applies to Jiraiya. |

Village Leader as far as the political side of things goes. Orochimaru, Shibuki, Akahoshi (kage in name only in Akahoshi's case, which is filler anyway) are all presumably Jounin rank and the leader of any official ninja village outside the five great nations (Fire, Water, Wind, Earth and Thunder) is simply their leader. |

The only difference between a Kage and a regular village leader is a kage belongs to the 5 great nations and can have some say in how the rest of the country is run, or at least in accordance with how the country deals with the ninja village. Otherwise, it's mostly a desk job and the call for a strong warrior if ever needed. |

Yeah, we're done with that one. I hope. Onto the next one. Arashi Uzumaki. At no point has there ever been any official statement over Yondaime being the Akatsuki Leader or having the name Arashi. Every single time there has been a moment where the reader/viewer could have seen his name written down, the writing has been reduced to an illegible scribble, making it impossible to read. Some people have seen a diagram of the signing ceremony Naruto does to become a subordinate of Gamabunta with Jiraiya's scroll, with the name between Jiraiya and Naruto being highlighted as Arashi. Some people claim that Japanese friends of theirs have confirmed it to be Arashi. They're lying. There isn't a single readable thing on the spot where the name (OBVIOUSLY Yondaime) is. The name Arashi comes from a fanfic, which was used as a placeholder name on the diagram due to it being his nickname instead of Yondaime Hokage, which is too big to type comfortably on the diagram. As for the Akatsuki leader myth, the page is a clever image manipulation of Yondaime's face replacing Deidara's. Photoshopped. Faked. Understand? If anyone would be so kind as to track down the actual pages where the original art came from, I'd be grateful. Also, the text on the page is a dead giveaway that it's not a legitimate page: anyone old enough to know what a BSDM kit is will know that such a thing won't appear in a series like Naruto, nor would Naruto and Kakashi be on a mission to retrieve something like that. Edit: Now we know it's Namikaze Minato being his father and Pain is the leader. |

Another thing - the Akatsuki leader does NOT possess a Sharingan. This was a mistake by Inane, who have since released a clearer version. While using their Astral Projection technique, it appears that Akatsuki members have their eyes distorted, as Deidara's eyes also appeared the same as the leader, yet he obviously has no Sharingan. Edit: Now we know it's something completely different called Rinnegan. |

There has been some confusion between the spelling of kimimaro's name (whether you know it or not.) I am here to say that it is in fact spelled and pronounced KimiMARO, KEE. MEE. MAH. ROW. there is no Maru. There is no similar Kanji in Orochimaru's name for example. |

[[important]] Naruto joined the Academy around the same time as his clasmates. Being the overconfident kind of kid that he was, he apparently decided to take the exam before the other students did. After failing it, he took them again, twice, failing both. He did not pass it until the beginning of the series. He is not older than the other students, he appears not to have entered before the other students. Students such as Sasuke, Shikamaru, ect, could probably have taken the exam years ago, much like Naruto did, and pass. They simply chose not to and graduated with their fellow classmates. I hope now I don't have to answer and close countless threads on this subject ever again. |

In chapter 352, in an argument between Suigetsu and Karin, Suigetsu makes mention of an event that took place between Sasuke and Karin. In a fit of anger and embarrassment, Karin punches Suigetsu. Most people are confused by this as they do not know what Suigetsu was refering to. this has unfortunatly made alot of recent translations innacurate. What Suigetsu was refering to were the events that took place in Chapter 348. Where Karin and Sasuke were alone, she locked the door and tried to get close to him while Suigetsu was busy. she did not rape him, she did not tamper with him, she did nothing. ==================================================== The Popular "Tengu Theory" which is widely regarded as cannon is exactly the opposite. While it may make strong points and seem like it does fit, it is all nothing but speculation and borders the line (or even passes as I have personally seen) of Fan Fiction. Such examples are that in the theory is the Hyuuga woman. This right out should be a first indication that it is fan fiction, as this character does not exist in the story of which Kishimoto has written. Another is that said Hyuuga woman and the Tengu creature mated and bore a child, Madara. This is too a work of non cannon fiction. Birds, descendant of reptiles, cannot mate with mammals, or even other birds that are not of their own species. Also, the manga Officially stated madara founding the Uchiha clan. That, however, does not mean he founded the Uchiha Family or even was the first to discover the Sharingan. Evolution takes many generations in order to show results of difference. It is absolutely impossible for Madara to be the first wielder of the Sharingan. [Edit] Recent chapters have blatantly proven said theory to be false. ==================================================== Tobi =/= Obito. [Edit] I can stick my foot in my mouth now. |

Q: When Itachi used his Tensha Fuuin technique on Sasuke as explained in Chapter 397, did Sasuke receive all of his techniques? Does Sasuke's activation of Susanoo in recent chapters confirm this? A: This has been an extremely common misconception in the forums and perhaps a large portion of the Western fandom as a whole for a while now due to scanlation mistranslations, and even now it's still very much prevalent, but the answer to these questions are in all likelihood a capital "NO". As confirmed by the third databook, the only technique Sasuke received from Itachi was a temporary form of Amaterasu known as "Tensha Fuuin". This was meant to be a one-time thing. It was nothing more than a Fuuinjutsu copy of Amaterasu that automatically activates upon seeing Madara's face, one that Sasuke couldn't control or trigger at will. A lot of fans like to reference Madara himself having stated that Itachi sealed all of his techniques into Sasuke in Chapter 397, though this is a mistranslation by the scan group 'Binktopia'; the proper translation of that statement only references "eye power" (while this can be said to be an ambiguity in itself, it contains no plurality and thus still probably refers only to Amaterasu). I repeat. There has been absolutely no mention in the series of Itachi transferring all three of his Mangekyou techniques to Sasuke. Posted Image The eye's appearance during their activations is a significant difference between the Tensha Fuuin Amaterasu and Sasuke's Amaterasu. Sasuke does indeed possess both Tsukuyomi and Susanoo along with his very own self-controlled Amaterasu, but because these all come from his own Mangekyou Sharingan's design and because they work and/or appear independently of Itachi's versions, it's most reasonable to conclude they didn't come from Itachi at all. Does this suggest that all Uchiha siblings can potentially have the same MS techniques, or does it imply that no MS technique is truly "unique" to the individual? Perhaps we'll never know, but it's certain at this point Sasuke just so happens to possess an identical repertoire. Edit: As of Chapter 560, Madara has shown his own version of Susanoo. If this doesn't outright confirm that Sasuke's MS techniques are NOT Itachi's, I don't know what can. |

Q: Why don't the databooks show us the ranks of various ANBU characters? A: As Kishimoto's official fanbook puts it, there are only five ranks within Konoha's regular shinobi forces: Academy Student, Genin, Chuunin, Special Jounin and Jounin. The fanbook further demonstrates that ANBU is not considered a part of the regular forces (正規部隊, Seiki Butai) so it is not categorized as a rank in any conventional sense. Persons of all ANBU positions cease to be a ranked ninja -- or to put it differently, they're a rank all of their own. Posted Image A more accurate diagram would also include the medical division and advisors, but this is a simplified one for easier understanding. It should be noted that ANBU is also generally considered of higher status than the normal ranking system. For anyone wanting more in-depth knowledge on Konoha's military system, I recommend reading or purchasing the first fanbook. It has a ton of information from Kishimoto that he neglects to mention in the manga and (as we can see) actually explains why ANBU members like Sai or Yamato aren't listed as Chuunin or Jounin in the databooks. |
