Before you read this, we would like you to memorize the golden rules for topics: When Posting: 1. Read the stickies and rules. 2. Check to see if the main site has the answer to your question. 3. Check the forums to see if it has already been done. When a mod/admin warns a user to get back on topic or not double post and so on, it's not spamming or going off topic, it's enforcing the rules, which is their job. Some members back talk and say that's what PMs are for, but PMs aren't for telling one person to stay on topic when a whole group is off topic, it's for warnings. When a mod/admin tells you to do something, do it. If you feel it was unfair or uncalled for, then report it to another mod/admin. Do not go mouthing off to any staff members. Forums FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Q: How do I change the title under my avatar? What do the green squares mean? A: You can change it when you get 10 or more posts. Also, 250 posts gets you two green boxes (Genin), 500 gets you three (Chuunin) and 1000 gets you four (Jounin). Please note this is not an invitation to start posting en masse just so you can change your member title. Q: Where do I find an avatar? A: Do a Google or Photobucket image search. We recommend Photobucket because its engine search on avatars are more compliant and detailed than Google's. Q: Where can I find the manga spoiler pictures and summaries that everyone keeps talking about? A: Try checking the Predictions For The Next Manga Chapter thread as they usually appear in there. If they are not there then use a search engine like Google. Do not bother mods about it. Don't go around asking for the spoilers either, you'll be annoying many people. Q: What's wrong with my signature? It won't work! A: Image signatures have been disabled. Q: Can I become a Mod, Admin etc? A: Asking to become one ensures you'll never become one. Q: Where can I download Naruto Manga/Episodes? A: Asking for links to licensed materials on the board would mean a warning, and in some cases a temporary suspension. Q: Hey! I know what happened on the manga! It... A: If you're going to post a spoiler then put a Spoiler Tag on it. Here's how you do it: Example: Spoiler: click to toggle General Board Usage Q: How come I have to wait 20-40 seconds before I can post again? A: This is to prevent flooding the board with spam. If this message comes up, you're posting way too fast and need to slow down. Q: Why is his/her name Red/Purple/Orange? A: Red users are VIP members who help LN. Purple users are moderators who keep the peace and punish bad people, best not to make them mad. Orange users are administrators, the ones who run LN completely and have ultimate access to the boards. Q: How do I host images? A: I recommend Photobucket or Imageshack. Imageshack is easiest, as you don't need an account. But with Photobucket you're able to keep your images stored in your account for quick access at any time. Q: How many images can I post? A: You are only able to post 3 images per post. Q: How do I use the Control Panel? A: The control panel is used to change your personal board settings. You can change the time to your own, choose to show or hide member avatars/signatures or choose whether or not you want other members to email/PM you via LN Forums. LN does not give out your Email adress, however if you email someone they will see it. Q: How do I appear anonymous? A: At the log-in screen (not quick log in), look near the bottom and check the box next to "Don't add me to active users list". Q: How do I post? A: Click "Reply" or "Fast Reply" down at the bottom of a thread to open it. Type your message, click Add Reply and wait. Only click it once, otherwise it may cause a double-post. Q:How do I make a poll? A: Click the "New Poll" button next to the "New Topic" button (refer to above question for location). Fill out the required information including the question and choices. If you want to limit votes to a single choice, leave the option as is at "Single Choice(1)", if you wish to allow multiple selections in the vote, select the corresponding number of selections you wish to offer from the pulldown list. Q: How do I PM (Private Message) a member? A: Go to the member's profile and click "Click Here" next to the Private Message option. Same for Emailing. Q: How do I use BBCode? Q:How do you link to a single post as opposed to a page? A: Click the link that says "Post #___" at the upper right hand corner of that post. Copy the link in the new tab or window that pops up, and put it in URL tags. Q: How do I make a new topic? A: Click the "New Topic" option at the top of each section. Q: Can I post anything I want? A: As long as it's relevant, coherent (as in, easy to read), and non-inappropriate (heavy swearing, porn, etc). This is a 13+ Forum. Q: How many times can I post? A: Post to your heart's content. Just don't become a post-maniac, and don't post more than once in a row. It's against the rules. Q: How big can my font be? A: At max it should only be 5, and at that only one word should ever be that big. Q: Is it OK to post a simple answer? A: Yes it is. However, it's not OK to just post a one word answer "yeah, sure, alright, whatever", as it's merely spam. Q: If I get banned can I make another account? A: NO. Do not EVER make a second account. This will make us completely IP Ban you forever. This means you'll never be able to come onto the site again. Don't make a second account for ANYTHING. Q: I messed up the topic that I started! How do I change the name/ delete it/ move it? A: Only Moderators and Admins can edit topics. If you want to change one of yours, you will need to personal message (pm) them. Q: I'm in the Probation usergroup! What does this mean? A: Probation is reserved for spammers, poll abusers and the like. If you're in it, you may want to consider your actions more carefully. Probies, to borrow the phrase, are denied access to making new topics, polls and certain sections of the site. You'll be removed from the group depending on how you behave while in it. If you become a better poster, you'll be given your privileges back. If not, you remain in it or may risk suspension or banning. Q: I can't find my thread! Where did it go?! A: If a thread you've recently created disappears, check the Trash Can before asking a moderator or administrator where it went. If it has been placed in the thrash can, do not create another one because we placed it there for a reason. Q: Why was I suspended for calling a character (insert remark here)? A: If these remarks are unacceptable and vulgar in any way, automatic suspensions are carried out. Examples include making pedophilia, Michael Jackson, or homosexual jokes regarding Orochimaru or calling Killer Bee the N-word (regardless of whether it ends with "-ger" or "-ga", the same punishment will ensue). Suspensions for this can range from a week to as long as a month. Q: How do you delete PMs? It's not very obvious, but a private message can be deleted. To do so go to your inbox, click the check-able box to the far right of the message, scroll to the bottom, and click "Archive." Now go the archive index page, follow the same steps, but click "Delete" at the bottom. The message will be permanently deleted. While this FAQ is very lengthy, getting acquainted with the ins and outs of this forum will help you be a better member. So please make use of the resources available to you.
