For some examples you could use them for summoning and also instead of carrying all those weapons around you can just use scrolls to summon them.

If you need to gain more strenght or you lost a lot of blood and need more. So the two most important are scrolls and pills. I don't know why people say different weapons when you can just summon them with scrolls.

If you're battling someone and all you have are summoing scrolls, you'll be okay for a while until you run out of them.
