Well there have been topics like this in years previous. School is pretty much back. I know people who have already started, people that are starting this week, and people that start soon. I will be a sophmore in highschool this year and I start back September 3rd. I don't think school will be that bad this year. I hope it is better than ninth grade. I take pre-calc this year and I am a little worried but I can handle it. So when do you start school if you have not already? How do you feel about the end of summer? What classes are you taking? What grade are you in? Etc. I hope 10th grade will be cool for me. |

Your sophomore year will be a lot harder than your freshman year (at least, mine was). I started school about two weeks ago. I'm a junior right now and am loving every minute of it. I'm taking four AP classes-English Language and Composition, US History, Biology II, and Macroeconomics-which aren't as hard as I thought they'd be, just a lot of reading. I'm also taking Calc I, Business Law, Spanish 4, and a study hall. From what I can tell right now, this is going to be a great year. |

I wish you luck in school. I really don't have a place here because I graduated from college back in may. I'm in the real world now or at least trying it out. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. I may try to head back this spring for my Masters degree because it will only take me one year. If I decided to head back to get my Masters I would be taking Criminal Justice classes mostly and it would help me out a lot for my occupation. I'm trying to be a police officer to work my way to US Marshall service. Plus a Masters degree gets a person 25% pay increase. |

Well I start september 4th so I still have about a week and a bit. Also, i'm going into my last year of highschool so it's time to really buckle down. I'm taking writers craft, english, canadian law, social studies, french, exercise science, world issues. So I chose all the courses I will be needing in university as well as the ones I would enjoy the most. So I hope this year I truly excel, but it will require a lot of hard work and determination. @Sabaku- 25% pay increase sounds very nice :P |

omg school. kill me now please lol. i'm also going into grade 10. i get to take 8 classes. i'm force to take: english(every year i have to take it) math(11 is the last year) history(only grade 10. good for me) civics/careers(only grade 10 and only half the year for both(this is one class but just to course in one basically)) science(last year for this) drama(something i want) art(something i want) music-vocals(something i want) but i go back this wednesday to get my schedal and stuff. its going to be a long day. but i go back on september 2nd which sucks since before it was the 7th. but i HATE school. i want this year over with. grade nine went fast(good thing), and it was hell for me soooo much happend. but grade 10 should be better since u know highschool a little now and now ur closer to being done school for good. best of luck at school for everyone who has it. and anyone who just goes to work then have fun with that too lol. (this year is going to be crazy for me. glad its half over) |

I start sophmore year in high school on the 4th. I'm actually not as reluctant as I have been in previous years to go back to school, despite the workload getting harder and heavier. Above all, I want to see my friends again. Mah sheddule: Period 1: English II Honors Period 2: PEII/ Driver's Ed (4th Quarter) Period 3: World Cuisine Period 4: Band Period 5: Chinese II Period 6: Algebra II Honors Period 7: Lunch/ Biology Honors (Wednesday - Lab Day) Period 8: Biology Honors Period 9: AP US History I I'm pretty damn happy with my schedule. I'll probably die in history this year, because I've never liked it all that much, but at least I got into band and the cooking class I wanted. :] |

On August 12 I started the IB program in one of the most demanding highschools in the country... It's pre-IB year which isn't included in the official IB system, so it's supposed to be fairly easy. Bullcrap. The math is already killing me after 3 weeks. I have a course of it in every one of the five terms and I've already gotten in touch with the tutors. I'm thinking about quitting French and starting German. I've studied French for 5 years, Swedish for 3 and my Swedish is already way better than my French. Swedish and German share 60% of the vocabulary, which would make German a very easy subject. We've only got 1 course of philosphy, so I'm considering taking more in-depth courses from the national side. There are 5 terms and 23-29 courses, depending on what you're going to study at the Higher level in IB. If you want to take a subject as HL you must take extra courses and get at least a grade of 8 in a 4-10 scale, 8 being good, maybe like a B- or C+. There are 23-29 courses: Finnish: 3 (4 if choosing as IB A- language) English A (first language, compulsory): 4 Swedish B (second language): 3 (5 if planning to write it on the national side, practically a must if planning to work in Finland) History: 2 Psychology: 1 Biology: 1 Philosophy: 1 Chemistry: 1 (2 if planning to study on the Higher level in IB) Physiscs: 1 (3 if planning to study on the Higher level in IB) Math: 5 Science lab courses: 1 It's very natural sciences- oriented, which kinda sucks as all my interests lay in the humanities. And I have no idea whether I'll be able to get through math with a decent grade... BTW school here starts at age 7, so highschool starts when you're 16. |

I started last Thursday as a Junior. School isn't that bad...it's only as bad as you want it to be. I'm surprised people my age are taking Calculus already...my school only allows Pre-Calc as a Junior (or Algebra 2 if you didn't take that Freshman year). My schedule: 0: Early Bird P.E. 1: Pre-Calculus Honors 2: AP Microeconomics first semester, AP Government second semester 3: German 3 4: Physics Honors 5A: Lunch 5B: Study Hall 6: Journalism 2 7: English 11 AP Our school is short on AP classes but it has a lot of Honors classes, which really makes no sense. They are exactly the same, but AP classes simply allow you to take an AP test for college credits at the end of the year...the course is no different. Early Bird P.E. basically starts P.E. an hour before school so as to get one more class in during the day. My state requires 4 years of P.E. to "fight obesity," according to my Freshman gym teacher. It really doesn't help, but they're trying. Journalism 2 is pretty cool because I am not only an editor for the school paper, but I get a press pass that allows me to go anywhere in the school at any time with no restrictions (unless something important is going on, like a test, a drill, etc.). I could also get into local events as a press member, which usually means it's free. I doubt I'll use that privilege though. |

All I have to say is thank God for off periods. For some stupid reason my school isn't offering very many classes during 7th period, so a lot of Juniors have it off. I tried taking a full schedule to no avail. I love it, though. I get out in time for Happy Hour at Sonic! My schedule: Physics AP Pre-Calculus Pre-AP/Dual Credit Advisory Orchestra U.S. History AP/Dual Credit English III AP Spanish III Pre-AP Off Period. School ends for me at 2:38 most days. I don't have many friends in my classes, though. That's the only bad thing. And my physics teacher has such a dull voice. He did make a joke about hanging people, though. He looks like a mellowed out Santa Clause. |

Well I'm a freshman at my high school. I play soccer and we have started double sessions. For those of you who don't know what that is, all it means is we have two sessions of training every day. One at 6:00 to 9:00 then we stay for lunch then go from 2:30 to 5:30. Because of me being me i am guaranteed at least 2 bloody noses by the end of season. Anyway, I am taking Algebra 1 CP (I suck badly at math) :P Honors English 1 World History II Honors US History Latin 1 Biology CP I really didn't want to take CP biology, the honors course would have conflicted with my math class so meh. This isn't my complete schedule, i get the complete one tomarrow at the freshman orientation. EDIT: Lol by the way i start on September 3rd. |

Im on my last semester of college getting my Associates. Then im going for another four years to get my degree in teaching. My last 3 classes are.. NJ History US History II Music of the worlds people. After I get my associates i'm sending in my resume to be a substitute teacher, and i'm gonna go fill out an app to be a teachers assistant. Its gonna be awesome :D |

High school, freshman, my school does a Block schedule, so I have 4 classes, all of them boring except the first one 1. Honors World History 2. Health 3. Algebra 1(Hate it with a passion) 4. English 1(Always good at this, and my teacher is awesome) Supposed to be a sophomore, failed 7th grade, what can ya do eh? I have 4 credits already so since all of my classes change mid-year I get to earn 8 credits and skip 10th grade. The credits I have are Intensive Reading, Integrated Science, Art, and World Geography. They tried to give me all Honors and I basically said "NO!" |

well i'm going to be a Juniors in high school =D although i am also going to get to attend a community college cause of a program school starts on the 3rd for me (freshmen get to go to school on the second without any upperclassmen so i get that extra day for vacation) kind of lucked out cause my first three classes are at the community college (high line) so i get to sleep in for the first month of school cause it doesn't start until the end of september i'm taking political science though high line and then i have chemistry, spanish 3-4 (hate it) and pre cal so its a nice schedule =D |

Well right now I gots me some: AP History III, It's like the only class where I completely decimate the 'gifted' kids in my school. (pompous pricks) Sped math, (this is mainly because I was'nt awake the last three years of math, so they think I'm retarded :/ ) Advanced Physical Science, with the best muthaf***in teacher ever. I'm not sure what grade I would be in America but here I'm in Year 11 or 4th year as it is also known. I'm doing my GCSE's next year and am hoping to pursue a career in journalism. The subject I think I may drop is French. It's been a good start to the year although the school is forcing me to cut my hair which in my veiw is plain stupid. |
