Shoot, I forgot it was on tonight and missed half. Came in on the part where Shikamaru was plotting out with the Shogi board and loved it. That sequence was just plain cool. It was a really pretty episode, judging by the latter half. I was surprised. You just got to see so much...KONOHA. It was incredible. Was that really Chouji's mother?? Not what I imagined at all. Was she at all in the fillers? (never seen 'em) |

Forget what I said in the other topic, that was a filler well spend. And might I say, I've seen some people taking losing a boardgame badly but DAMN! Shikaku ****ed him up big time. |

Best filler episode ever. End of discussion. I can only hope they'll deliver an episode as good the next time a character is in mourning. Off course that most likely won't be animated until 2010.

It was a great episode, best animation ever in the whole series I think. Really much filler but I didn't think I disliked it. |

Good episode. Great music placement when Shika picked up the shougi board too. Almost all the elements were excellent in it. I felt some of the faces looked really poor at times, but they used a ton of unique scenes which made the overall episode look amazing. One of the best episodes so far. |

For an episode where nothing happened alot happened. The animation was beyond good. Next week looks to be the start of Shikimaru's team vs Akatsuki round 2. I've given up waiting for the missing scene, it'll just show up in that rumored filler arc. |

The guy who directed the animation and art of this episode, Hirofumi Suzuki, is also doing episode 85, so you can expect to see this type of HQ animation again. |

This episode was pretty good, I think that everything was set up pretty nicely. However, Chouji's face seemed a little bit more chubby than it usually did before. |

decent epi. nice setup. choji is huge. choji mom is huge too. the thought of choji's dad and mom make me cry. i am pissed that shikamaru is not smoking. i remember in manga when he light the lighter at end when they were about to leave he lite a cigarette. also fifth hokage you sux stop caving to ninja. you give orders make the follow them or put them in jail. you lost enough ninja to revenge issues. next week the battle starts i hope 4-6 epi long battle. |

That's way to long at least a good 2-3 episode's is all it should take, and also Tsunade only caved cause Kakashi a brilliant Jounin decided to accompany them. |

Excellent episode. Intensely emotional without being emo. The use of color and music was excellent. If only the rest of the series were as stylized. It's episodes like this that make so many of the other episodes pale in comparison and make us bitter in that you know they can do better. However, the "training montage" was pretty lame. I had the "every movie needs a montage" song from "Team America: World Police" running through my head. |

Nice episode, definately a good example of good use of filler. The filler bits compliment the story and it seems like who ever came up with them thought ahead as some of the things added probably only make sense further along the story unless you read the manga and/or know what happens. |

Pretty good episode. Love the stylized look. Wish they would have this animation for the next 3-4 episodes, which looks like will be dealing with the battle. Man, I hope they deliver with great quality for Kakuzu and Hidan. I've been waiting for this battle for soooo long. |

beautifully animated and paced episode. its seems like for some reason they bring out the A team to animate fillers and the scrubs for the canon. I hope future episodes look like this one |

Shikamaru truely has the potential to be the main character in Naruto. The artwork in Naruto is becoming more like older anime's which is awsome 10/10 (Kakashi just doesnt know how to not save the day) :ph43r: |

Y'all are right: for a filler episode with no action, this is a pretty damn good one. The scene where Shikamaru plays out the battle in his mind and on the shogi board was awesome. Got a little sick of the constant scene with the kids. We get the comparison already, you don't have to beat us over the head with it! The scene where Shikamaru was gearing up brought one thing to my mind: Oh, it is on. Unfortunately, they wrapped it up with that stupid "motivational" scene. Whenever they try to do those scenes, it always comes off as cheesy and annoying more than anyting else, at least in my opinion. And the stupid music they play during them doesn't help either. It's almost as if they're trying too hard. And they need to keep this level of quality animation up. Either that, or save the guys who do this level of quality work for the important episodes, aka the fighting ones. Overall, actually worth the time to watch. PS - Chouji's mom...damn, that a whole lot of lovin'. PPS - the kids cleaning the graves; man, what kinda s**t job is that? |

Why do you say that? This is a ninja-centered village. It is probably something of an honor (or at least, not a stigmatizing and low-status) to get to do that, and it exposes the kids to what their shinobi go through to keep them safe. Plus, they're cute to have running around. XD That's the main reason the animators chose kids as ground keepers, I bet. Should have had genin doing it though. |
