And this whole cursed tongue thing is like that barrier around Konoha: nice as an afterthought, but more of a plot hole/ass pull considering past events. Unless of course it was put on Sai after the Return of Sasuke arc, but I'd be willing to bet all Root ninja have them done upon initiation, which raises the question "where was this when he spilled the beans about his actual mission the last time?"

It means: Hexagram 33 Posted Image Hexagram 33 is named 遯 (d�n), "Retiring". Other variations include "retreat" and "yielding". How do you know they were jumped by surprise??

Like to putting a hit up on Sasuke, that's not evil. Sasuke is a traitor to the village, betrayed them, and is a member of an ememy organization bent on world domination. Trying to kill Sasuke is not evil, it is the only logical opition they have.

Itachi wasnt really useful for them after the massacre so well they could have eliminated both him and Sasuke. Or just him, and train Sasuke to be one of the village's most powerful ninja.

Besides the fact that he basically sacrificed everything but his own physical life they'd also have nobody to keep tabs on Akatsuki, nobody to nullify Orochimaru, and would have to sacrifice quite a few men to kill him. What happens if an assassination attempt fails? You have a pissed off ninja capable of slaughtering the police force with intimate knowledge of your village, a membership to an organization of incredibly powerful and destruction hungry ninja, and a set of magical eyes that can do most anything.

After he done killing his clan, have shkimaru father (under false pretense) trap him in shadow jutsu then cut his head off with a sword or butter knife, simple ambush. Plus using his MS and killing so many people take a toll on his body. Well that's my 2 cents on getting a job done right. Danzo can take a page from my book. Theoretically he should have done the same to Orochimaru, Pain, or basically any threat to anybody. It doesn't work that way though, especially since all Itachi has to do is look at somebody to incapacitate them. And again, do that and there's nobody keeping tabs on Akatsuki or to nullify Orochimaru.
