He will be back and then gone permanently). To be honest, I'm not a big Sasuke fan so these next few epis are gonna be boring to me. Sadly I couldn't enjoy the Akatsuki as much as I wanted because Sasuke overshadowed them. Aside from the leader's face being revealed too early I had no complaints. That last scene showing how everyone realised something's up had got to be the most epic part of it. Next week seems to be more half filler/half cannon. Edited by Reobeem, Jun 18 2009, 06:02 PM.

The flashbacks were great especially which, lead him down the path he chose. My favorite part of the episode was when Sasuke let Kabuto see the "transference ritual."

I've always said that I never believed it when people say that Kishi has nothing to do with the anime. There is NO WAY they did all this without brainstorming/consulting with Kishi. I sometimes wonder if Kishi doesn't expand on stuff knowing at some point it can and will be picked up in the anime

I can't wait for the high quality hard-sub to come out so I can do my full review! 100/10 Actually 10/10 Sasuke takes 90 points away because of sharin-hax. But it's still IMO up there with the best shippuden episode/s so far.

This is the first Canon episode with fillers i can say i enjoy. It seemed to me like with every flash back the anime was on a up and down scale. Not the best episode seen in my opinion but it was nice. 9/10

But what i really don't understand it's why the animation has to be HIDEOUS, if this is one of the important parts of the manga and after 4 months of fillers. What a SHAME!!!! The music choosing and timing also a crap. At least this is something expected, it's been very bad for almost all 2nd part of the manga.

Jounin Posts: 1,769 Group: Member Member #797 Joined: September 24, 2005	wow, i cant wait for my regular fansub group to release it... it got good comments from everyone i think... as for divine's comment regarding orochimaru still staring at the sharingan knowing it's properties, i think we can look at it in another perspective where he is staring at it as a sign of being superior thinking that he can withstand it... well that's just an initial though as i still havent watched it... and i salute and thank the moderators for a job well done regarding those people who post spoilers just to make themselves sound intelligent...

I've got my eye on you, Kishimoto.... Posts: 615 Group: Member Member #14,273 Joined: July 18, 2008	10/10 from me. That was some of the best "filler" yet. The fights were pretty bad but the retrospective elaboration of Orochimaru's character really stole the show. Nice to see the guy was human before becoming a monster. It was handled extremely well in my opinion. Sharingan FTEW.

Aside from directing problems and a few tidbits... Spoiler: click to toggle I was expecting Orochimaru's demise to be a bit more intense. At least a louder sound effect when the snake things came would have been better. Also why was the "Akatsuki Leader's" face fully revealed for the non manga readers? I'd prefer something more along the lines of the crazy fun themes (like Bacchikoi, for example) which really manage to stand out in these huge piles of bleak, dull songs with the constant slew of Naruto characters in J-Pop poses or something, and the current ED really kind of follows suit in a cliche and uninteresting way. Ikimono-Gakari's (they do the current OP for those who don't know) songs, while not necessarily stand-offish, I know, are at least decent and pretty catchy in my opinion.

Narutofan.com said that "They are a more traditional replacement for Dattebayo that you may have heard of in the past" Also, (Since I dont know much about Taka) Taka Fansubs are Free Fansubs. yea, take that Viz! I've yet to see any hard subbing in their Fansubs of this Episode. Maybe there was nothing explicit to translate, who knows? Edited by Pervy Sennin, Jun 19 2009, 07:13 PM.

First off, I thought this was a great episode. As for my score........guess. :P I loved how they fleshed out Orochimaru's character. Showing how he went down the path he did was very amazing on Pierrot's part. The filler scene with Anko was a very welcome addition. The manga didn't show much of her and she has a connection with Orochimaru too. The ending scene with the ominous feel to it got me pumped up. Mostly because it's right. Crazy things are on the horizon. :o If there's one thing about the episode I had to complain about, it was the sudden revelation of the Akatsuki Leader's face with no real build-up to it. It just felt out of nowhere. But all in all, I really liked the episode and now it's time for the recruitment of the guy in the water tank.

I like the fact they showed a softer side to Orochimaru when he was younger (showing concern for Tsunades dead loved ones - or the fact the human condition is so weak). Good to see a young Anko (and a cameo of current day Anko). Spoiler: click to toggle Also noticed the brief cameo of Pain. I don't mind filler when it adds to the story like this.
