I think this has been asked before, but I'm not sure so I'll ask it. If a ninja were to get a blood donation from an uchiha, would they be able to do uchiha clan specific techniques?

No if it's anything in relation to the Sharingan.

I didn't think so...thanks for reassurance.

Blood does have DNA in it, right?

All of the cells that make up blood have DNA in them. All cells in general have DNA. The problem is that you would have to edit all of the DNA and RNA (which, unraveled, would be miles long) flawlessly in every cell in your body in order to acquire the bloodline. That's a bit hard, especially when your body would have to possess enough molecules to replicate the nitrogen base sequences.

Yes, but no where near a sufficient amount for an individual to develop their own Sharingan through a blood transfusion, as the most important DNA elements would be missing like Chromosomes for example. It probably wouldn't be possible anyway.

If someone could gain the bloodline ability of another through a blood transfusion, that means they'd also gain hair color, eye color, skin color, etc.

it wouldnt be enough though to do that clan's jutsus probably, but yes blood has DNA, its just that the amount you would add to someone wouldnt be enough to really add the two DNA's together

although if you do get enough DNA in one, those would mix

it could be how the sharingan first came to be, two DNA's mixed together to make that bloodline

that could be how all the blood lines were made

im not saying that is true in any way

Now I understand, one could have the bloodline but you would have to have multiple operations and surgeries done to your body(another Orochimaru).

Maybe I should retake biology.

That's a matter of combining DNA into a new life form from two others. Just injecting the blood into yourself won't do anymore than giving yourself some extra blood.

agreed
it will have to b some incredible medical jutsu or experiment done on ones body to aquire a bloodline
and it may b possible to locate the different letters with the bloodline in the DNA, and add that 2 ur DNA so u dont look like the bloodline user, but its still very difficult

I dont think a person could even get a transfusion from some one with a blood limit. it would be like some one with type b blood getting Type a blood it would most likely kill the person. well that is just what i think any way.

well thats true, but its under assumption its compatible i think...
but besides blood types, y wouldnt it work? cuz it would b weird DNA or somethin?

i cant exactly explain it sense i have not taking biology, so i cant tell you, all i know is its more complicated then most people think, you cant use blood to transfer DNA

The problem is that you would have to take an enormous number of molecules, bind them together in a sequence and bind them together without causing horrible mutations (horrible meaning something like hemophilia on incomprehensible levels) in every single cell in your body. I don't think there is anyone who can cause molecular changes like that in the Narutoverse. It would be possible to use viruses to apply the DNA, but you would need a hell of a lot of different viral types (viruses can only attack specific cells). Then you encounter the problem that RNA viruses wouldn't be able to do this. The problem is that it can't be done. Chakra has its limits, and this breaks them on a huge number of levels.

Look, lets say you're white and you need an organ transplant or a blood transfusion. A black guy is willing to give you his kidney/liver/spleen/blood/whatever and luckily you have the same blood type. So the operation happens and you have a new organ/moar blurd. You don't suddenly turn black do you? Or african-american, I don't know, you say something nowadays and all of a sudden you're being un-PC...BAH HUMBUG.

Of course this is from someone who used to melt nails with bunson burners to try and make tiny swords in science class...I was a blacksmith.

i have, and i know....to change ones DNA sequence is an impossible task that i know of because by now, so many cells have divided in us, that
A) If there was even a way to change our molecular structure, we would have to change it in every cell in our body perfectly(millions+ cells), or we would mutate and possibly kill ourselves
B) There is no way to do this....at least not that i know of

Right on blizzard...
neither in narutoverse, or even this universe i think....we cant alter DNA on a large basis, and yeah, u would need many different bacteria and viruses to change everything.
However, i have thought of 1 way that orochimaru could have gotten all the bloodlines....
Basically, he get a few cell cultures, helpfully stem cells maybe from himself and basically altar the stuff in there with other bloodlines and just allow it to grow and multiply (this may involve a nasty experience with a female prisoner). That body, if done correctly, would have all the bloodlines he injected into it, and he can then clone the body again and again...
This might have been possible for orochimaru's little immortal plan to shine with sharingan forever without buggin sasuke after all....although he would need about 4-6 body transfers before the bloodline clone is ready and trained

It's hard to have an exact quote since the translations differ.

One says, "Those clouds are so lucky...so free...."
