Well this is kinda old, but I must ask...
Back in Kakashi Gaiden when Kakashi was chargeing towards the Rock nin, he was hitting bunshin's before he reached the real nin, if I'm not mistaken it was commented(I think by Yondaime) that those bunshins were Kage Bunshins...
My question is, how can a Rock nin do Kage Bunshin, when it was supposed to be a secreat(not forbidden at the time, I know...)jutsu for Konoha??!!

I'm not so sure it was secret. The Third Hokage decided it was too dangerous to use and had it declared forbidden, but if knowledge reached other countries, there's nothing stopping them.

Well, I don't think that it is common for a jutsu learned only by Jounin, to simply leak out. We all know how carefull villages are about their secrets(Hunter Nin)...
Kisame was somewhat amazed that Kakashi did Mizu Bunshin, and he was the copy ninja...
For a regular/not special Rock nin to do it, and it only got a simple comment(less wondering than Kisame's), seems weird to me...
Couldn't Kishi made it a Clay/Mud Bunshin instead...

Kakashi(copy ninja)+Mizu bunshin= WOW...

Rock nin(Not copy ninja)+Kage bunshin= oh, kage bunshin...

Is it that common for a Jounin level secret jutsu to be stolen from a village that assigns Hunter nin to kill their missing-nin just for the reason to keep their secrets from leaking out...

I hope that was easy to understand...
If you are still confused, just ignore it. I'm sure someone else could manage to figure out the puzzle...

Well it was years back. Maybe there were many spies at the time including rock ninjas that did a lot of "information gathering". It was a war back then, so hunter-nins were probably needed else where since such a big war requires as many ninjas as possible.

And a clay bunshin would be a bit cliche. Water bunshin, shadow bunshin, bunshin, sand bunshin; I don't think Kishi wanted to add to the list.

And Kakashi didn't need to learn mizu bunshin. He did by simply copying, and that surprised Zabuza, maybe because it took him awhile.

I forgot about Zabuza, he too was amazed about it. Even though they knew that the one in front of them was THE copy ninja...
As for spying on Konoha. Well, unless they were spying on someone who was beeing tought how to do it, there is no other way that they could figure it out...
This is getting more than a simple quick question. No worries I'm not going to start a topic about it...

I think there was not only kage bunshin in that scroll
It could have been forbidden because of other techniques in it
Naruto said something like "I could only learn one technique" if I remember rightly

Hmmm, why doesn't Naruto attempt to use the scroll and learn it with all his bunshins? But then he'd have to steal it again, and Tsunade will beat the crap out of him. Oh well.

There should be more forbidden jutsus listed in the scroll since I remember that as well.

Wasn't it mentioned in the scroll also? That's the only way he could've learned and done both of them.

Why not?, they are in a crittical situation...
But leave Naruto out if it. Jounins are the ones to seek...
Naruto would put those forbidden jutsus to a waste...

EDIT:

Kage Bunshin wasn't forbidden at the time of Kakashi Gaiden; but it was a secret jutsu, because it could lead to Tajuu Kage Bunshin...
They both later became forbidden...

kage bunshin, and Taijuu, were banned by the 4th hokage. these techniques have probably been around for hundreds of years in the narutoverse. yondaime banned it from konoha nins to use, but that does not apply to the other villiges.

I know...
I'm not asking why did they do it when Yondaime made it forbidden?
I'm asking how were they able to do it?

However, if that technique was there for hundreds of years I guess it could have slip out at a point when Konoha wasn't at it's best...

It used to be limited to Jounin only; that's why it is called a Jounin level jutsu...
However, Yondaime made it banned from all nin(in Konoha)...

"naruto has taken the scroll of forbidden seals"
"those are dangeous scrolls forbidden by the previous hokage"

kage bunshin was in the scroll but was not banned I think
and its jounin level coz its that hard to do

at least In my opinion

its a forbidden jutsu for all. it jumbles up the chackra system making it hard for most to mold it afterwards. that is why it was banned. this is why the kyuubi comes in handy for naruto.

while they cant stop most from performing it,it is frowned apon. but those who know it, probably learned it before it was banned. which means asside from naruto, kakashi's generation is technically the last to ever learn it.

Yes,I know that. Also, the ANBU leader during the Sand/Sound invasion was also named Raidou.

The Tajyuu Kage Bunshin was banned because it could kill you unless you have perfect chakra control and a good amount to use. Kage Bunshin wasn't really banned...it was just not advised to use. The Kage Bunshin equally divides up the chakra you have among the clones. In simple math:
2 clones = 1/2 of your chakra in your original body
3 clones = 1/3 of your chakra
And so forth
Make to many and you'll be unable to do anything else the entire battle. Once you run out of chakra, you're dead.

In the anime, which was probably a filler but I haven't read the chapter, one BU ANmember adressed the leader in the gold robe as Raidou. A screenshot will be available upon request.
