i'm not sure if high jounin is a real rank in naruto. but people use it as someone who is between jounin and kage level. kakashi might be a high jounin level. but i'm not 100% certain

edit:a high jounin is also known as a special jounin. they r ninjas who gained a high jounin level skill in one area of ninja arts. the kage is the strongest ninja in the village. idk if this is want u want to know but thats the difference(atless thats how i c it on the rank guide)

Actually Special Jonin are no better or worse than normal Jonin. They're the same rank, they hold the same amount of command and authority. The only difference is they're just in charge and specialize if different duties. High Jonin is just a fan made term to describe jonin of exceptional power and skill, basically the same thing as "Kage level".

Because there's no point. I don't know what Houcho means, but Kubikiri means Neck Cutter.

One's a Jounin of exceptional skill, the other's stronger. How's that confusing?

"High Jounin", simply put, is an inaccurate fanon term. It's often used to describe prominent Jounin characters such as Asuma or Kakashi as being the "strongest Jounin in Konoha", when, in reality, the term was solely derived from character significance rather than actual skill. For all we know, most known Jounin characters are no more powerful or skilled than any of the unnamed irrelevant Jounin (with obvious exceptions being the Sannin and possibly Kakashi); Especially considering the simple fact that Jounin themselves are Konoha's top tier and already "high" in fighting ability as-is. With the exception of Kage-level shinobi, it could be argued that "High Jounin" is merely a double-positive term. There isn't really a difference.

Special Jounin are different in that they specialize in only one (or few, possibly) area(s) of the ninja arts as opposed to a fully-skilled Jounin. A major difference between Jounin and Special Jounin is the obvious rift in fighting capacity. Statistically speaking, Special Jounin are essentially Chuunin-level in skill, even though they hold the same authority as any other Jounin would (as Hanzo previously mentioned).

So basically, "High Jounin" is a completely useless fan-made word while Special Jounin have the same rank, but different skills than the generally stronger normal Jounin.

Samehada's a special kind of sword. Zabuza's seems to be just one big hunk of metal.

I hope for your sake, that wasn't directed at anyone here.

Connections? It's just the past. Shippuden is two and a half years of a time skip from the 1st half. You may as well go with what is in Shippuden now, because that's obviously how Kishimoto wants it when he writes.

Kubi= Head/Neck. Kiri = Cut. Houcho = Literally, carving knife. However, most people choose to render it as Head-Cleaving Sword.

orochimaru's kusanagi grass cutter sword is spoken of very highly. and it even managed to hurt enma while he was as hard as diamonds.

does it have a special ability and if not what is the big deal about it?

In legend, Kusanagi was a sword used by the exiled god Susano-o after he found it in the corpse of the Orochi, since he broke his previous sword in killing it. In the manga, the only reason it carries the name is Orochimaru pulls it from inside himself. The name has no real relevance to Sasuke's blade, other than it probably being from the same source as Orochimaru's. Neither have shown any special power other than Orochimaru extending the blade to impossible lengths. Sasuke's can be used in conjunction with his lightning manipulation, so it's possible it may be made of the same metal as Asuma's trench knives.

Ultimately though, they're just named after legendary swords.

You'd better stop with the caps and large text. I answered your simple question, no need to snap at me for it.
