Only in terms of completing a technique by adding an element to it.

By ranking standards, Naruto is a Genin still; he never took the Chunnin-Advancement test upon his return.

In any case, it's logical that the Chunnin-selection exams may vary every time with different rules and settings, and that some people may be randomly assigned into Squads.

Just a quick question:
In the chuunin written exam, pretty much everyone seemed to know that they were supposed to cheat. Did I miss something or did Sakura never realise that?

The object was to gather information without getting caught. Naruto didn't know this, so he didn't even write on his paper. While this means they couldn't do as required under those conditions, it also means they wouldn't make a careless move that could expose them. It's safe to presume that Sakura wised up to this quickly.

Sakura actually knew the answers, but also realised that most would have had to cheat.

Maybe she did think that others would have to cheat because they wouldn't know most of the answers, but what I mean to ask, is that did she even realise that the whole point of the exam was to cheat? I don't remember her thinking anything along those lines.

She deduced it from the fact that the questions were too hard for people, unless they were extremely intelligent or extremely experienced. The test should have been impossible for even the above-average Genin, and that they did not fail people automatically for cheating but merely deducted points. Putting this all together, though I think Sasuke was the one shown thinking it, Sakura probably figured that the only logical option for most people would be cheating.

This question is not exclusivly a Naruto question but I think here is as good a place as any to ask it.

Why is it that in Naruto and many other mangas as well that the top ranked fighter, techniques etc is so often labeled S? If theres no real answer does anybody know why its S and not some other letter or/and what S stands for?

S-Rank jutsu in this manga is really any forbidden jutsu or strong secret techniques known to only one ninja. It must have a high difficulty level which really surpasses an A ranked jutsu and probably be unique to only that ninja. These jutsu also have a higher possibility of strongly harming the user and probably their companions as well.

S ranked fighter/ninja is someone who owns such a jutsu/power and uses it. This possibly means that they're also experienced in using their jutsu and fighting in general at a jounin level.

S ranked jutsu range in a number of different ways. In Naruto we see it as Nin, Gen and Taijutsu. Medical jutsu, sealing jutsu and even forbidden experimentation.

S is usually the highest rank you can get on a level. I'm also clueless as to why S? What it means. If it's superb or what?

I thought "S" stood for either "Secret" or "Super".

PS. There are various naming conventions out there in the real world that similarly break off from pattern at a certain stage. Like in GCE A-levels, the Grades are A,B,C,D,E,and then U. ???

From other series (Devil May Cry, Dead or Alive, etc), "S" is taken to mean "Superior."

Where did the picture of Konan's face come from in the Akatsuki Section? I saw a part of the face in a recent chapter cover, but not that whole picture.

The U stands for ungraded because the candidate did extremely bad. Below 40%. From A to E is a pass. But A's and B's are faster accepted by employers. But that system is changing now. They're making it numbers now from from 1-5 being a pass and 6-7 being a failing grades. I got a seven in accounts. LOL.

Was it ever explicitly stated that Madara was Akatsuki's leader? Pain was the self-proclaimed leader. Some may say that he took orders from Madara, but to me it seemed more like a casual conversation between negotiating partners. I don't ever remember reading the line "I am the leader of Akatsuki" or any variants in Madara's speech.

It's because of the manner in which he spoke to Pain. The tone he used was very commanding and not even the kind one would use with an equal or superior. Also, in Pain's absense while he went to Konoha, Madara revealed himself to everyone and sent Sasuke off on the mission to capture Killer Bee. If he's not official, he's certainly assumed command as de facto leader.

I guess I took it a different way, direct and blunt. But I suppose de facto would be a better word to describe his current position, if he indeed isn't the current leader. Thank you.

when akatsuki was founded
leader of akatsuki was pain
madara was just someone in shadows

as I understand this manga
sometimes in past madara meet pain
take advantage of pains hatred agains all big countries especialy konoha
since pain was still a kid/young man/unexperienced and madara 80years old warrior
it should be a piece of cake to manoeuvre pain like his puppet without him even noticing

so IMO this is how it is
konoha thinks pain is a leader
konan thinks pain is a leader
even pain thinks he is a leader
zetsu know that madara is behind everything
kisame know that madara is behind everything
madara know that he is behind everything
naruto know that tobi is behind everything
4th know that tobi is behind everything

Hey guys I got a question, can Sasori be affected by Genjutsu? I say this because he doesn't have brain in his actual body but, he does think and talk. So what do you think, can he be affected by genjutsu?

Theoratically he should be affected, since he can see and hear and stuff, his senses do exist, therefore chakra could fool them.

Sasori made it quite clear he doesn't feel anything, so it's extremely doubtful that genjutsu would work on him. Possible depending on what the genjutsu does, but highly unlikely.

He could have just said that to make him seem more invincible to his enemies , because even with everything he did to his body he was still human and still was able to have five senses maybe in a very weakened state. I believe if the jutsu was strong enough being of Rank A or higher that it definitely would have effected him to some degree.

He said that after he was fatally wounded and Sakura slugged him in the face; he wasn't showing bravado at that point, he was stating a fact.
