An epic episode and sad at the same time. :(

The greatest characters has passed his will of fire... You will live on J-Man :(

Now on to Sasuke and his bro, although I'm looking forward to next week, I dont believe it wil be as great as the great Jariaya.. <_<

Farewell Jiraiya of the Sannin, Perverted sage of Myouboku mountain, may the toads croak thy heroics forever and the wind whisper thy name.

it was a good arc but i dont think it was as sad as when asuma died fighting hidan. even though pervy sage passed on his will of fire, he died a true ninja's death which is what he wanted.

This was a truely sad episode. It looked as though Jiraiya had a chance to get away but he chose to stay and find out who Pain is. With his last bit of energy he passed on a message to the Elder Toad which might just tell us who Pain really is. I'm going to miss Jiraiya and his own way of making the world just a little bit brighter. Farewell Pervy Sage and may your will live on.

Beautifully sad. Think they could've done faster pacing, though the animation was above average.
I enjoyed watching, but those flashbacks are getting more and more annoying.

Yeah I didn't cry whereas I did with Asuma but they're very different deaths. Asuma was a man in his prime who died an abrupt and violent dead. Whereas Jiraiya is an old man who knowingly sacrificed himself and accepted his own demise. It's still very sad but it's not a tearjerker.

The visuals and general animation used in this episode were actually quite gorgeous, there's plenty of fantastic artwork and fairly fluid animation. The music itself was well-placed for the most part and the scenes were all pretty dramatic, we even have a little filler and symbolism to further emphasize the impact of Jiraiya's death. I didn't like the overused flashbacks, but everything else ranged from adequate to superb.

Overall, a solid episode. Farewell, Pervy Sage. 8/10.

"Jiraiya isn't dead! like how Storm Shadow fell in the water @ the end of the GI JOE movie.... He will come back, just like how Orochimaru always comes back and never dies..." "Like a frog from a well to the ocean."

it was a great battle but i think if jiraiya had a little more time he could of located pains weakness and could of beat him by exploiting it or just added it to message.and i think theres no possible way for jiraiya to have survived.

NO! He can't be dead! :(
 What's wrong with them??!!

I loved the part with the barrier. Very awesome I'd say. Also loved the flashbacks.

Great chapter. 10/10

Still I'm keeping my hopes up in seeing him in the future.

Very good episode !!!

Loved the symbolism between Jiriaya's epilogue and the frog at the end. Very touching.

One of my favourite characters is now gone but at least it was a "ninja's death".

Lets seem how some of the upcoming fights are done compared to their manga counterparts.

Should be some interesting visuals to say the least.

Should be some interesting visuals to say the least.
Only problem is that (at least with this arc) the environments they're fighting in don't look nearly as epic as they do in the manga but maybe that's just me.

One of the best episodes of Naruto I have ever seen. Great action sequences and very touching moments recalling his past. Instead of fleeing he decided to help Konoha and the Ninja world discover the mystery of Pain. I liked the scene at the end with Naruto as well. music and animation were fantastic. 10/10 from me

Really? I taught it was portrayed wonderfully. The entire environment and also the jutsu were great.

It's just that somehow the place looks smaller in the anime. I can't explain it.

Colour and movement and a clearer look at it. To me, it's quite larger than I taught. Especially the part when Gamaken was fighting as well. Plus a lot more was added to show us just how much space was used in fighting. They covered a wide area during this fight and it's seen better here than in the manga. Imo.

I looved that episode. Sad to see ero-sennin die but I liked how he was talking at the end. Not as sad as when the 3rd Hokage or Asuma died but I still loved it. It was also nice to see how Naruto got his name and his parent. Very good arc.

Great episode. It was suitably dramatic and even better than it was in the manga. I really liked this particular arc. It's easily my favourite arc from part 2 and is right up there as one of my favourites of the entire series. 10/10.

Epic.. 10/10 from me, The J-man is legend, he will be missed.. Pain has come off very badass animated, this whole arc was just put together very nicely I was satisfied with the finished product.. I must also state that for me Jiraiya has become the best death in the series taking it from the 3rd...
