The idea of a whole cat society running along parallel to the human world of Naruto is stupid and yet unfortunately possible if you draw out the whole "animals talking" to its logical conclusion. Was at least nice to see how the Uchiha and Sasuke specifically actually interacted with Nekobaa before they were wiped out, since that part of the timeline was always a little iffy.

The 'good and decent' category that I'll rewatch during a series re-viewing. [I collect the series on DVD] Then there's the 'bad and horrible' category, which I'll usually skip during a re-viewing. I also hate those where characters are badly OOC. That said, I'll see this episode and leave my review. Though from the sounds of it, this looks like it'll be one of those I only watch once.

Specially when they put those ears on. That was hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. :lol: These fillers are making me go numb when it comes to Naruto anime.

I enjoyed seeing Part 1 Sasuke again and the cats were neat. Considering there's a entire culture for toads, I would expect the same for other talking animals. But now I wish the Uchiha's had a cat summoning contract. Anyway, The first scene with Tamaki and Team Seven was pretty funny.

That one scene was really good, but the concept of the episode didn't sit well with me. I'm getting sick of all this filler. If done right it can be great, but what they've been churning out makes me sick, with the exception of the two episodes which showed Iruka initially hating Naruto, but coming to terms with him. Those two episodes are how filler should be. The rest is mind-numbing and discredits the series. I once tried to tell my uncle of the awesomeness of Naruto and how its almost as good as DBZ. I turned it on and it was filler featuring a fat kid (Choji) and an idiot (Naruto) trying to make ramen. Guess who got laughed at?

I actually enjoyed that filler. This episode was alright. I think the focuses of the fillers are shifting away from adhering to the plot towards playing around with lighting, mood, themes, and experimental animation. I noticed that in this episode some of the character movements were a bit unnatural - too solid, although other parts put the characters into very interesting situations. Sakura's scene running up the stairwell and Sasuke beating up the cats on the stairs was awfully reminiscent of the Third Shippuuden movie. Sakura's fight with that one cat was fun to watch, seeing as how her pre-Shippuuden battles were far and few between, not to mention lacking substance. Her bar scene was also fun to watch as it totally deviated (in terms of style and culture) to the series' basis Sasuke's fight scene was rather dramatic and I liked the eerie Japanese-Horror feel they were playing with; it gave a bit of a different effect to the actual battle. The only bit I didn't really enjoy were the cat-bands. That was a bit eh. Sasuke was also a bit out of character, to me, because of his rash jumpiness and violent tendencies here. Even in Shippuuden, before his omnicidal mindset became sedimented, Sasuke was never really quick to outbursts of anger.

At times it felt as if I was watching something other than Naruto Shippuden. Although I'll admit that this episode was better than I expected. For one I really liked watching Sakura's fight. Part one Sakura didn't see a whole lot of one on one battles so this was fun to watch. I also enjoyed Sasuke's fight against Nekomata. I thought the way Sasuke defeated Nekomata was quite clever. It's always nice to see a character use their head to win a fight. Getting to see a younger version of Itachi was another treat. I know there have been a few instances where filler has included a younger Itachi. The brief mention of Yugito also caught my attention. How I wish the episode focused more on her because she didn't get a lot of air time before being captured by Hidan and Kakuzu. In the end I give the episode a 5.

But what is it with the Japanese and cat ears? Well if there is Frogville why not Catville too? I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out Pakkun has wife and kids back in Dogville...
