Not too bad, though I have to question the Tsuchikage's decision to send a ton of crappy Genin to probe Fire's borders. I also think this may be the first time Naruto has voiced understanding of the status of his absent clones pre-Rasen Shuriken training with Kakashi. I guess he knew what happened, just never put 2 and 2 together to use it for training purposes. |

I have to say i enjoyed this episode. Enjoyed all the flash backs and specially the mention of yondaime being Naruto's papi. Hopefully we'll get some action on next weeks episode. |

I thought this filler episode was rather good. The storyline was great, I knew who the enemy was right off the bat from their clothing. 8/10 |

Can somebody explain what happened to the villain in the end? It looked to me like "Oh, we are running out of time. Then I will lose consciousness to make it". Come on, guys, 10 out of 10? It may be not so idiotic as most of the previous fillers, but... You really should teach people like me how to enjoy them. What am I doing wrong? I really don't want to suffer anymore. |

Most of the filler was enjoyable enough to overlook the villain's...downfall. Falling down and going "I-impossible!" may have been better rather than having her just faint. If anything, I reasoned that she strained too much previously in her insane laughter and overexertion of her technique so she kinda just plopped over. Anyone also notice this filler was a lot more violent and had a bunch of onscreen deaths? Granted, the people dying from explosions and deep wounds were fodder anyway. |

The end of the battle did feel a little bit disjointed. Naruto had just returned to protect the old man, showing what he's made of, and then I can envisage the storyboard writers going 'christ, I guess Naruto will have to deliver the final blow now (as pretty much always), but wouldn't it be cool if the old man around who the episode is centered gets to be the hero? I guess it would be but then why did Naruto come out again only to stand there doing nothing? Oh, screw it, we're already through several stages of the animation process, let's just stick with it.' Otherwise, I really liked the episode a lot. The eternal Genin was a great character. At first I thought they were writing him up to be some kind of incorrigible, inept underachiever that kept being passed over for promotion, but I was glad they gave him hidden depths and built upon his vast experience in the field. |

Great EP, IMO i think it would have been better if they jounin and the old man would have died in battle and give the theme of Passing the Will of Fire to the younger generation, but even though i didn't turn out to be that way i still enjoyed it. Great to see Genjutsu, and awesome Ninjutsu like Part 1. Nothing over the top which pleases me. 10/10 |

This a little off topic but The January schedule for Naruto Shippuden is all fillers so I'm not sure when these fillers are gonna end lol. |

That's a scary thought. It's been 4 months since the Pain invasion arc ended and it looks like we'll be seeing more fillers until January so that makes it 5 months at least. I hope it doesn't turn out to be similar to the 1.5 year of filler the Naruto series had. I really don't understand these Japanese animators and the tolerance of the Japanese audience. There is more than enough canon source material out there to use. Anyway, I agree with everyone else. This was a superb filler. |

I liked the flashbacks that Kosuke had throughout the episode. I always consider it a treat whenever we see one of the previous Hokage and in this episode we got to see the Second, Third and Fourth! I also liked it that Kosuke had a good reason for still being a Genin instead of just being a complete knucklehead. Judging from his flashback with the Third Hokage he could have become a Jounin had he wished for it. This episode was much better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed watching Hayama, Tekuno and Kosuke getting a chance to show us what they were made of. This was especially the case in regards to Kosuke. Not bad for an old man. I was surprised by the amount of ninja deaths that occurred in this episode, granted though they were only fodder. I agree with those that thought the female lead villain went down too easily. If anything Kosuke's water jutsu should have at least washed her away. On one last note I thought reference to Naruto being the Fourth Hokage's son was a good addition. Overall this episode gets an 8. |
