decent episode, good to see a little disagreement before the war. now let the real story continue, preview for next week's episode and the trailer both look great. I'll give this one an 8/10. Happy New Year everyone, bring on the canon!! |

Good filler episode. Nice to see the conflict between village members regarding the alliance. Dear Fillers, you'll be gone and will be forgotten. You had some good ones, but you are ultimately irritating. See you in a few months. I'll try not to miss you too much. |

I agree that it does well to showcase the tensions that remain between the villages. Indeed, it can seem easy for the leaders to say, "Let's be friends!" when it's frequently their subordinates who have more recently-born animosity with another village/country. Still, beyond that it was a minimally interesting episode only—easy to predict. Glad to know the good stuff will be returning next week. |

Best filler in this whole arc was the Konohamaru one, the rest kinda sucked. Last week's was pretty funny though. |

Well, that was a decent period. Though I preferred the episodes involving the characters at Konoha and the preparation for the war as opposed to the ones focusing on the voyage. |

I like that the focus of the episode was on how even though there is an alliance between the five ninja villages that doesn't erase the tensions between them. As others have said it's easy for the higher ups to make an alliance but it's difficult to stop the hatred their subordinates may harbor towards a specific village. I remember this was touched upon a little during one of the earlier filler episodes that showed preparation for the war. I have a feeling this problem will continue to arise as the war gets underway. In the end this was a pretty good episode. I was happy to see Naruto use Sage Mode to locate Ganryu. It gave us a break from his constant usage of Shadow Clones. It was nice getting to see characters like Akatsuchi, Kurotsuchi and Choujuurou in the episode. Although I wish we could have seen some more from Akatsuchi and Choujuurou. In my opinion the final outcome was kind of predictable and the whole "Hidden Cloud stealing an important document/technique" is really recycled. Episode gets an 8. |
