Kamui failing would seem to indicate there's a potential tie to Obito there.

Incredibly boring chapter. I know the action chapters tend to drag a bit, but absolutely nothing of importance was accomplished or revealed.

3/10.

I am leaning towards what Shika said with there being a faint tie in with Obito, we all know in our gut thats what Kishi is gonna do.

Kamui failing probably means that Tobi is the One-tails Jin. Which makes sense because we haven't seen it on the battlefield. Since kamui does not work on Tobi, kamui failing on Gedo means Tobi's connection to Gedo prevented kamui's effects.

8/10 I liked this chapter because it reminded me of the old day. where the characters where just throwing ultimate jutsu every other move. A bit of maneuvering and some intense scenes and it makes for a great chapter.

I don't think that Kamui's failing is connected to Obito whatsoever. It's probably more to do with the Ten-Tail being the ultimate being rather then Obito. After all, if you are a force of nature, you can't really be defeated.

I'm actually really excited for next chapter

Naruto better remember what his Moms told him about the attack on the village when he was born. Yondaime, although he was a genius, was able to enjure Tobi. There is a way. Maybe the next chapter they'll figure it out.

I enjoyed the action but dang... Tobi ain't no joke and big ups to Guy on the toe to toe with him.
I wonder when the rest of the Leaf gang are gonna catch up?

Is the chapter seriously titled "Chaps" or is that a weird translation?

when i saw Kakashi's kunai aimed right for Tobi's mask i was going "Kakashi will demask Tobi!? it has to be Obito then!" then it got reversed toward Naruto and Kakashi overuses Kamui again :FP:

didn't Gai say at the beginning of the fight that Kakashi doesn't have enough chakra left to use Kamui safely? yet he's used it twice in a row... Gai questioning him if he's all right has this Kashi fangirl a little worried. Kashi's limit is 3 Kamui's right? and Gai was awesome here with the nunchucks, not sure if i read too much into it, but did it look like Gai actually hit him? it did to me. and who thinks that mask will be removed in the next chapter or two?

god i just hope Kakashi doesn't die of chakra exhaustion again. the only way i'll accept Kakashi's death is if he dies protecting Naruto or Gai.

wait, all the falling rocks, is anyone else seeing more Obito hints?

It's "Fissure". Title's right there on the color spread (which, by the way, amounted to one hilariously dull staring scene).

This makes the second yawn-inducing chapter in a row. I understand what Kishi's trying to go for, but he needs to realize it doesn't carry any impact or excitement when the entirety of those 18 pages is just Tobi dodging everything and Kakashi's Kamui failing. Long, epic battles when done well have a tendency to be - I dunno - eventful? I want to see both sides clash, not one side wildly throwing punches around and not connecting them while the bad guy practically stands around. Nothing is being accomplished.

This is reaching Bleach levels of slowpoke, which is kind of surprising when you consider he's usually incredibly good at pacing the fights in this manga.

First time posting...so take it easy......Did anyone else notice the writing on the left side of Tobi's mask? I wonder if his mask has some sort of connection to the ten tails now that it has been revived. Since it disappeared when Kakashi tried to attack it by Tobi somehow, Tobi's mask was than shown with a crack to its left side. Without getting to far ahead of myself, I am beginning to think that the mask and the ten tails will be connected somehow in that in order to see Tobi's face the ten tails must be defeated first or tobi's mask needs to be broken in order to defeat the ten tails.

What an incredibly boring chapter was this...
Geez, it's been so long since I read a lame chapter as this... oh no, wait, 594 was dull too, mmmhh, so this means that this battle against Tobi it's getting tiresome, Kishi really needs to put some effort in this fight or it will drag a lot, even more than Kabuto's.

We aren't getting any new techniques or cool uses for the ones we knew, just, they're thwrowing their jutsus, but nothing happens... And the bloody Ten-Tails doesn't appear, this is getting nowwhere, better switch to Madara vs. the Kage(THAT's a great fight) until Kishi is ready to show the final tailed beast.

This was a 1/10 for me. So boring.

A bit of a slow one, but I can appreciate the teamwork and use of strategy from the four against Tobi.

It sure beats the 'prettier, but comparatively mindless' conjuring of pure power.

Still, Tobi is much more elusive. They're taking advantage of his strategy but are still unable to land a hit.

Personally, I've been having a sneaking suspicion that Obito and Shisui were brothers. If you notice the mangekyos of all the Uchiha eyes, you'll see that the pupils of each immediate family members are different. One has a red pupil in mangekyo, the other has a black pupil in mangekyo.

Because of this hypothesis, I've been pondering that Tobi might be their father, which might explain him having met Kakashi and Guy before, yet them not remembering.

OK.....this might sound a bit crazy but....I think what Kakashi really meant when he said he wanted to show something.....was not another Kamui!!! Kakashi is thought to have got his Mangekyou after seeing Itachi when they fought in part 1. I was anticipating that after fighting briefly with Sasuke, what he really wanted to show was his own version of........Susanoo.

@Raizanoro - Thats a good theory, but the only question I have is....how would this go along with Itachi - who knew Tobi's real identity - asking for Tobi's help to eliminate the clan.

A chapter full of fighting. Simple but nice. It was pretty cool seeing Gai show some intelligences in a fight, and for Kakashi to not forget about the Gedo Mazo. I suspect the thing with Kamui is another red herring, though it does mean that Tobi wasn't just talking big before. But the real star was Tobi, who finally starting to show why he's the main villain. Never thought a fan would be such a good weapon. Anyway, Tobi keeping up with Gai, Naruto, and Kakashi all at once says quite a bit about his strength. Shame he's not using any other ninjutsu or abilities. Nice chapter.

As much as I'd love to see a Kakashi Susanoo, I'm fairly certain one can only have a Susanoo if they have two Sharingan.

I'll admit that if there was one redeeming aspect to this chapter, it was definitely the utilization of the war fan. It was fresh, creative, and relevant to Tobi doing something that doesn't pertain to playing monkey games in a fight.

Shame it was only used for a select few panels, because the rest of the chapter is exactly what we'd expect from Tobi's usual antics. "Boring" is almost an understatement.

Slow-a$$ chapter -.-

Kamui not working on the gedou mezou/juubi? seems just to be that the "monster" is much more powerful than Kakashi anticipated... It don't see it as a strong tie to Obito... but who knows...

The fighting in the chapter... simply leads us back to where Kaka, Gai, Naru and Bee began... nowhere?

Quite confused with all these slow-paced fighting panels -.-

Not the best chapter, and not informative at all... Tobi simply standing his ground vs. 4 top-knotch shinobi 0.o

4/10 - for Gai's Nunchakus

Personally, I have two theories in that specific regard.

Option A: Itachi only knew his real identity as being that of Madara, which was a lie, so Itachi was thusly fooled.

Option B: Itachi knew that Tobi was the father of the two, and then Tobi wanted to help Itachi with the killing so that he could be around Itachi often, and find out the truth of what happened to Shisui, and possibly Shisui's eyes.

1. Kakashi could not Kamui Tobi
2. Tobi knew Kakashi's technique then and commented it won't work
3. Kakshi could not Kamui Mazou
4. Tobi again comments - too optimistic!
5. Kakashi realizes something

Now what Kakashi realizes something awful in point 5 - is a point about the connection between Tobi and Mazou. Infact Tobi's ability to appear and disappear at will is so unique that if he was anyone known in the past 100 years with that kinda technique, this weird ability of his alone would have made him famous enough - hence blowing his cover in the present. So, the theory is:

1. yes he is someone from the past
2. no he didn't have that ability before

Another observation - Tobi's Sharingan NEVER turns off. Guess who is the only other guy with a Sharingan that does not turn off?? Its Hatake Kakashi...and then there was probably another guy like that - Danzo. In short, it means the Sharingan eye in Tobi's sockets belongs to someone already dead! Thats the only way it can be always active.

Tobi has a stock of Sharingan eyes as shown, so the eye could be any one's. But WHY does Tobi need someone else's Sharinagan when he IS definitely an Uchiha and a capable one? Because he lost his eyes. Now who is the Uchiha barring Sasuke who lost both of his original eyes? Yep - that guy is Tobi. Another line of thought converging on Izuna....

More on that and point number 5 in a moment.....

Now the way Kamui works is like this: It takes something on the outside and makes it transition to an alternate plane of reality. It DOESN'T make it disappear. Tobi - as we all know has an alternate plane of reality inside him where he can transfer people and things. The connection between Kakashi's Kamui and Tobi is this:

Kakashi's Kamui didn't fail - Its just that it dumps the target right into Tobi's plane of reality - from where Tobi puts is back to where it was!

This is reinforced by two facts:

1. Initially, the Mazou is shown to be deforming a bit when Kakashi tries to Kamui it - a proof that the technique was infact in effect.
2. And this is the most important - Kamui has only failed twice - and both the times in presence of Tobi. Its because Tobi knows where to put the stuff back into reality to make Kamui ineffective - only when he is present in the scene to witness the missing part in the scenery. Its Tobi who is bringing back the stuff from the alternate plane now and again (However, in case of that Kunai - Tobi might not have had to bother to bring it back coz it would have lost its momentum anyway).

I've also thought similar things about the Sharingan-always-on thing, but if he's extremely proficient with his eyes, then it might not be too difficult to keep Sharingan all the time. Personally, my top guesses for Tobi are Izuna, Obito and Shisui's father, and a few other ones that are too insane to mention. XD

Sigh. This was terrible. Really, really terrible.
Can we get plot development on anyone ANYONE except SASSSSSKEEEEE please ? Its bad enough that the SASSSSKEEEE chapters drag on endlessly and for months at a time, but the Kage and Naruto fights have been reset to 0 about 5 times each. I get that "Oho we won ! Oh NOE the villain had another hidden move up his sleeve !" thing is standard progression for Manga, but GOD we were in this exact same spot almost 2 years ago, and NOTHING has changed.
