Well, 287 certainly didn't end how I thought it would. Introduce the Nokizaru and then they just up and disappear. I guess I should be happy it didn't end in a cliche fight? I dunno.

Also, "Nokizaru" was apparently regional slang for a ninja back in the day, meaning monkey on the roof.

A nice back story to Tsunade and Raikage's relation. Seems like even back in those days Raikage was throwing his weight around. It was funny that he was sweating it for a bit when he realized Tsunade had the upper hand in strength. One thing i didn't like is that we didn't get to see how they took care of the Raikage's little problem. Also, what happened to the Nokizaru????

Guess we'll never know!

I like specials!

I'm a big Tsunade fan. She turned to shinobi vice like we sometimes find ourselves doing ya?

- Strong. I see why Jiraiya always loved her, I mean who wouldn't.
- Shizune - my my the leg thing...
- The other medic ninja - he has a good heart. Good guy. He would of went well with Shizune.
- Arm wrestle - I am impressed about the power vs. speed.
- Tsunade's pain and her inspiration by Naruto was shown nicely here.

- I am actually OK with not knowing what happened to those Nokizaru or finishing the surgery because my focus was on Lady Tsunade. But I imagine what could of went down!

10/10 for me.

Overall average episodes, about what I thought. Their was a few nostalgic scenes like Tsunade being drunk, her hemophobia and being called the legendary sucker, good stuff. Villains were cool, to bad they did basically nothing. Next weeks looks average, to bad because I like Kushimaru. Although the chikara special is better than I thought. high quality animation. I'll post the trailer in the upcoming anime episode forum. 7/10 for this one.

Tsunade's age threw me off when he called the Raikage a brat while in her youthful form.

Shizune's pretty dumb disclosing so much information about Tsunade like that to another shinobi of an unallied nation like that.

Anyway, I think this is the best filler season that's ever come out of the Naruto franchise. The producers have so much material to work with.

So that's the new trend...?...no feeler "per-say" but one good chapter & 3 crapy ones to "move" the story ahead..getting tired of this 12yr old story.

Saiyan Power Rangers are confirmed in Naruto.

Anyways, I enjoy seeing high ranking ninja fillers for once, even though we're just seeing Tsunade's backstory for like the 10th time. Although it did show an interesting callback to Tsunade's phobia. I also agree with Ryuuske Minami's post, not to mention that Tsunade being a off-duty ninja at the time makes it even worse.

Anyways 8/10 because... Raikage's face at the end of Shizune's explaination =D

Were the Nokizaru supposed to be rip offs of the Saiya-jin's from the Dragon Ball series or something? I mean why else would they have a monkey tail wrapped around their waist? It's ironic how Nigai let himself be provoked by the Nokizaru after he told the Raikage not to allow himself to be provoked by them.

I was surprised how the special ended. The whole Nokizaru situation came to an anti-climatic halt. Also we never found out what happened with the Raikage and the bug inside of him. These two things along with having to see and hear Tsunade's story yet again made me deduct points from the special.

On the positive side of things I did like how Tsunade used the transformation jutsu to trick those collectors into giving her more money. It was nice seeing the back story to Tsunade and the Raikage's relationship. The arm wrestling contest between the two was cool. I liked it when the Raikage realized he was being overpowered. Finally, I thought the revisiting of Tsunade's fear of blood was nostalgic.

Overall not bad for two filler episodes. I'll give the special an 8.

Well alright for being a "special" that was more than a little disappointing... Tsunade's transformation and the arm wrestling were cool and that was about it. Episodes gets a 4 from me this week. That sucks too because the last few fillers have been amazing.

The Nokizaru were interesting because of their abilities and their monkey tails being an allusion to their name, but I'm disappointed that they became little more than a backdrop for the character dynamic between A and Tsunade. Still, I like the circumstances surrounding their meeting in addition to how true to character they were - Tsunade's still a drunk gambler and hemophobe, A still destroys stuff in a fit of rage, Shizune still has unwavering loyalty to her mentor even during a time she's fallen off the right track and they were even willing to mention the old Hyuuga incident. All of this is relevant to the story being told, and it shows that A's presence is suitable for an episode that feels like a Part 1 story.

As a side note, I liked the arm wrestling competition appropriately showing how their skills compare, emphasizing Tsunade's strength and A's speed. Enjoyable special overall.

Aesthetic Rating: 3/5
Story Rating: 4/5
Overall Score: 7/10
