More Seven Swordsmen filler, this one is really good. I enjoyed the flashback to Guy and Kakashi during their youth. Recent manga flashbacks appear to have given the writers more leeway to fill in some of their backstory, including the apparent event giving rise to the name Raikiri. |

i loved the episode. Kishi definitely has to be giving input into these fillers, Pierrot has rarely ever made fillers this good. |

Agreed, I also enjoyed this episode. Glad the anime is getting to show all the Swordsmen in action. One of my favorites has always been Kushimaru Kurirare and his longsword sewing needle. I liked the back story with Gai and Kakashi, and seeing Kakashi cut the lighting bolt and his chidori becoming Raikiri. Kakashi's voice sounded a little strange, I remember in Kakashi Gaiden his voice sounded great, now he is roughly same age and sounds younger. I'll give this one an 8/10 only for mediocre animation and kakashi sounding a little different. Good story and action though. |

My thoughts on the recent episode of Naruto Shippuden: In case that link doesn't work: Link to My Channel Do you know the definition of immortal? Are you sad to see break dancing shinobi die? Is sandshrew the ultimate counter to Sharingan? These questions and many more are addressed. |

Good episode. Not a big fan of Kakashi's adolescent voice, but it's good flashback story. I appreciate that they showed that Chidori as a lightning cutter actually has an origin, and not just "old men" telling tall tales as Ino once suggested during the Chuunin finals exam when Guy gave a narrative about it upon seeing Sasuke use it. |

as great as the fillers have been (for the most part) i kind of just want them to get back to the canon already because i feel like they're just stalling after every major canon fight happens. |

I see it as Pierrot filling in the untapped potential the manga missed out on. The story (characters too) is getting much more flesh and elaboration, which is never a bad thing. Far as can be seen, the spacing from source material is only a bonus as opposed to the primary purpose. [Heck, it blends in perfectly and nobody who didn't know would be likely to even guess this is anime-original] |

Agreed. If there's ever a good time to insert these fillers, that time is now. There is so much untapped potential in this arc. Enough for half a year maybe even more. That right there gives the manga so much space from the anime. Personally, As long as they keep up these good stories, I wouldn't really mind if they don't come back to canon until next summer or fall |

I found it to be a joy to watch Kushimaru and Sewing Needle in action because I am a fan of both. This episode provided a good example of how brutal the Hidden Mist could be. Kushimaru and Jinpachi took full advantage of their immortality. I like how Kushimaru pierced through Jinpachi in order to get at Kakashi. The tag team match of Gai and Kakashi versus Kushimaru and Jinpachi that followed was fun to see. Gai's "Comrades Combo" remark added some comic relief to a tense situation. Both Kakashi and Gai must have had a sense of deja vu throughout this episode. It's funny how this situation and the flashback mirrored one another. In my opinion said flashback was really cool. I loved getting to see that the story of Kakashi cutting a lightning bolt with Chidori was true. We witnessed the birth of Raikiri. One gripe I did have with the flashback was that I thought Kakashi's voice didn't fit very well. The whole finding chakra out of nowhere in order to protect a comrade theme also made me roll my eyes a bit. Yet another excellent filler episode. I'll give it a 9. |

Kakashi and Gai were able to take on an 2-3 squads of adult earth ninja, while being extremely exhausted and being... ya' know, kids. That's where I call BS. 9/10 for more Seven Swordsmans. |

The storytelling in this episode was excellent. Jinpachi and Kushimaru really do live up to their names as the merciless swordsmen they were reputed to be, using each other as sacrifices in order to attack the enemy while simultaneously having the regenerative abilities of Edo Tensei work to their advantage. It's clear from the get-go that only capable Jounin like Kakashi and Guy would stand a chance against them, and even while severely handicapped, Kakashi's "rampage" and Guy's hot-blooded passion are formidable forces. This was excellently tied to the flashback surrounding Kakashi, Guy and Rin in the previous ninja war. Did I mention the birth of Raikiri? Filler at its absolute best. However, Pierrot is sorely lacking in animation quality as of recent. Aesthetic Rating: 3/5 Story Rating: 5/5 Overall Score: 8/10 |
