Not as good as the other filler Swordsmen episodes I felt. Maybe I was just disappointed that the anime didn't take the opportunity to play up one of their past creations in Raiga since the Kiba swords were being used.

I liked it. I hope all the characters keep the weapons they get. kakashi -zabuza swords; bee-kisame sword, tenten-that awesome fan; and not Omoi- and the lightning swords

the thing that bothered me is: what stops kabuto from summoning Ameyuri back again since she is not sealed away?

Good episode overall, Ameyuri is one of my favorite of the Seven Swordsmen along with Kushimaru, Zabuza and Kisame. Animation definitely better then last week, and story was decent. I like Omoi tricking Ameyuri like that. Well Chikara is finally here. hopefully it is decent and not wasted animation. This one gets a 9/10 from me.

From what I hear Ameyuri is primarily a girls name. I also thought it was ambiguous, but either way doesn't matter to me. Ameyuri is still a bad ass.

I think it's still a winner.

Aside from Zabuza, who eventually found redemption, the rest of the Seven Swordsmen are really blood thirsty fiends. Their notoriety is well earned. Unlike the others who were revived who obviously demonstrated hesitance in killing and participating in the war, the swordsmen find a lot of joy in killing.

I though Omoi getting the lightning blades from Ameyuri was a nice touch.

Despite this episode not having as much action as the previous episodes. I'm pretty content with this episode. Plus, Omoi reminds me of Shikamaru in a way.

Out of all of the members of Team Samui Omoi has gotten the most attention. With Samui sealed away I can understand that the animators have their hands tied with her character but seeing some more of Karui wouldn't be a terrible thing. That's not saying I don't like the attention given to Omoi. My favorite parts of the episode had to be the battle scenes between Omoi and Ameyuri. Omoi put up a good fight. He really earned inheriting Ameyuri's two Fang swords.

It was nice getting a small bit of back story on Ringo Ameyuri. So they decided to go with the incurable disease way of death that we have seen strike some other characters. Overall I thought she was a decent member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. It was interesting to find out that Nurui wasn't acting like a coward after all. He actually had a plan in stopping Ameyuri. I liked the flashback between Omoi and Killer Bee. It was neat seeing Killer Bee act like a teacher.

This was a solid episode. I'll give it a 7.

I agree with you. Ringo Ameyuri's lightning swords did bring back some old memories from Naruto part 1. I think they would have to be the coolest ninja sword blades so far! It was pretty cool to get to see that there was actually a countermeasure for Ringo.

Filler crud.

I next week back to canon? I checked on Wikipedia - the eps are called power 1,2,3 respectively. What's that about? (without giving too much away.

Nope. Not even close.

Those episodes are a filler special spanning six episodes that, unlike the current high-quality anime-original content [I refuse to call something filler when it feels like so much more than mere space padding], has nothing to do with the current storyline.

To my knowledge, we may continue with the anime-original expansions when it's over. At least I hope so. The more they can expand on and flesh out to enhance the story between the manga portions, the better.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Ameyuri is, in fact, a female. She's so exceptionally skilled with those Kiba blades that I'd almost hate to think how she would've reacted to the fact that a rather underwhelming ninja like Raiga ended up as her successor; it's a shame Pierrot didn't touch on that (then again, if Choujuuro and the would-be Suigetsu are of any indication, the current generation of swordsmen don't seem to be quite up to par in general so it comes as no surprise). While it's nice to see Omoi work up the determination to fight against opponents clearly stronger than he, Nurui seemed like the real star here. Whereas he was cleverly plotting to lure Ringo into a trap, Omoi only served to complete the plan in case things didn't work out so well initially. I find it interesting that he inherited her swords, but I doubt the plotline will actually do anything with that.

Overall, I'd say this was a fairly decent episode. It's no secret the Kakashi + Guy tag team would've been a match for this opponent, but focusing on less powerful protagonists for a change sometimes makes for a more refreshing change of pace. I wasn't as impressed as I was with the previous episode, but these fillers continue to be an enjoyable experience.

Aesthetic Rating: 3/5
Story Rating: 4/5
Overall Score: 7/10
