I agree and it almost seem that it turned into a completely new series... I'm loving it. And hell yes, Izuna and Tobirama round 1 - fight ?! 9/10 Although I think Hashirama and Madara will interrupt the "battle", if look you on that last page again... |

Okay this is starting to drag on... We could have done without the first half of the chapter as Kishi is just filling in and making the read feel redundant. The only good part IMO was when both decided on where their village would be and how there would be order to eliminate senseless killing of youth. I'm liking the confrontation between the clans top dogs. Hopefully we get to see some neat ninjutsu if not, at least we'll have a good fight. 6/10 |

Ok it is dragging a lil bit but I liked the last page. Izuna looks kinda cool, being young and talented and looks like he can almost match madara on strength. Would like to see tobirama and izuna fight it out, we've never seen many sword battles aside from the samurais, so I'm quite interested in how battles were like with (im assuming) limited jutsus in those days. Reminds me of the start of the naruto series when they focused more on the hand to hand combats |

I can tell Kishimoto is having fun with this backstory or else it wouldn't unnecessarily drag on like this. Thankfully, im enjoying all of it. Although, I find it halirious that an ideal for this million dollar idea behind Naruto that revolved around child-bredded ninja soldiers started with a child named Harashima. Also, another thing I notice it the younger brother look cooler than the older ones, yet it's strange that they both know each other. Anyways, looking forward to this fight... that won't hopefully be timeskipped. |

Wow, this is really upsetting. I started to like Madara last chapter and seeing this really makes the story more tragic in my opinion. Madara and Hashirama befriending each other as children and then being destined to fight to the death is just sad. No wonder why he gave gave up on a peaceful resolution, looks like Hashirama managed to maintain faith though. |

Its draggin yes... But its been really good so far and now we have to see the fight between the parents! I'm assuming they'll probably kill each other! I liked it how they were on top of the mountain (probably same mountain that has Heads of Hokage's) and looked down at where the Village of The Leaf will be one day!!! I really like the younger characters all four of them!! |

Props to the guy that accurately called this last chapter. Madara HAD 4 brothers because 3 died, he still has one. Izuna was not dead to him nor was he not born yet... EDIT: Am I the only one who is not bothered by the length of the flashback? I wanna see Tobirama and Izuna go at it! Edited by jutsumaster12, Mar 6 2013, 11:05 AM.

It would seem that both Izuna and Tobirama have met on the battlefield before whereas Madara and Hashirama haven't. It would also seem that both Madara and Hashirama were both considered sorta outcast/idealist in their respective clans |

3 chapters of backstory and it's "dragging"? Why don't you guys just stop reading and catch a summary later. There's more to a story than the main plot and fighting. Why do you think Kakashi got an entire gaiden before part 2? Those events are pretty important to the main story now, aren't they. ---------- I'm loving the flashback. Yay history. |

I'm enjoying the flashbacks and I think where the chapter left off will be the point where Madara and Harishama might start to drift apart unless Tobi's story of Madara was all lies and the reason why madara became so strong was because he trained with Harishama and not Izuna and the reason the Konoha village was establish was because Madara wanted to and maybe the Uchihas was against it. I predict both fathers of Madara and Harishama killing each other. Sad that there's no chapter next week. |

Just thought of another similar character parallel. Charles Xavier and Eric Lensher. They started out as friends, things didn't go their way so one kept the faith and the other turned to the "any means necessary" protocol. Just wanted to put that out there...... At least this flash back is moving along. @ The Peacebrew: LOL! I agree on the round one coment. Tobirama vs Izuna should be sweet. I'm not surprised that they know each other. |

It was nice to see how Madara and Hashirama grew closer together, though the whole village thing seemed a little heavy-handed. Once again we see the Senju clan wasn't much better then the Uchiha clan, though I must say that Izuna and Tobirama looked awesome all decked out for battle. Nice chapter. |

So finally, we have canon vilification of poor 2nd Hokage (who gets no love) in favor of the complete and utter rehabilitation of the Uchiha Clan. It's not that unlikely actually, as in real life there are no good-guy families and bad-guy families, but since the entire motivation of this story arc is to justify Sassssske's poor choices, idiotic behavior, and continuing portrayal as an "innocent good guy who hasn't made up his mind", I cannot abide it. |

I like the progression of this flashback, it may be slow but it is interesting. I had a feeling while Madara and Hashirama sat atop the cliff, that's where the future of Konoha would be. And the ending was cool giving each other warnings with the stones and both families attacking. Sucks no chapter next week, guess I'll just keep playing Storm 3 while I wait. 9/10 |

i want to see other clans from that era. Not just the Uchiha and Senju. we already know they hate each other. and we've seen already alot of the Uchiha. What about the other clans from Konoha like the Hyuga? or the Uzumaki Clan? Also, Tobirama looks badass on that last page. |

About the only thing I liked about this chapter is that it continued with the revealing of Konoha to be an epic fail… Unless when Madara and Hashirama said they would make a village without child solders, they left instructions to omit people named Itachi, Kabuto, Kakashi (and pretty much EVERYBODY in his entire generation), and hell, Hiruzen didn’t look all that old in Danzo’s flashback either, and they made him Hokage for crying out loud! Now all we need is an Orochimaru flashback to destroy that one grain of sand that remains of their moral high ground, and Kishi can finish this manga with Naruto joining Akatsuki to wipe out everyone in the ninja world while remaining a good guy. |

The panels with Hashirama and Madara overlooking the spot that would become the Hidden Leaf Village, the very village they spoke so much about creating, was neat. At this spot we got to see Madara's eagerness to protect Izuna since he was unable to prevent the death of his other brothers. Madara's strong connection to his younger brother was mentioned right before this flashback so this just verified that statement. I will say this though, Hashirama's vision of children in their potential village not experiencing the horrors of the battlefield fell terribly short. A lot of my favorite moments of the chapter occurred at the end. First of all, I liked how Madara and Hashirama used the rocks as a way to let one another know that they were in danger. I also thought it was really cool to see a young Izuna and Tobirama geared up for battle. Getting to see Madara's father and learning that his name was Tajima was another positive. On top of that we found out that the name of Hashirama's father was Butsuma. I wouldn't be surprised to see these two possibly killing each another in this encounter. Overall this was an ok chapter. I definitely did not like the literal toilet humor. I'm glad that was limited to only a few panels. Hashirama's figuring that Madara was a prodigy continues to show his perceptiveness. Chances are Madara realized that there was something much more to Hashirama as well. You just had to look past the goof ball behavior. Chapter gets a 6. |
