I agree, this filler is not living up to what it should be. This filler should only be about three episodes, if that! Let's hope it picks up next week. |

This was a decent, yet useless episode. Like Shikamaru already pointed out, it was very dragged on to the point that nothing much other than what was shown in the last episode was new. I mean really, it took Ino 2 minutes to understand her father's explaination. Anyways, what I like is how Shikamaru found a contentment when he heard his friends be fine about the mission failure. Also, lol@Naruto randomly punching a Zetsu. |

The animation did appear to be off at certain points. I know there was one shot of Kidoumaru that had me shaking my head. I agree that it felt like there should have been more fighting going on in this episode. There was a little too much talking going on. For the short period of time there was fighting I liked seeing some different match ups. It would be nice if that continued. On one last note I also liked seeing Ino and Shino put in some effort to try to help their comrades. Episode gets a 5. |

That remark about the Sound Four originally having "Jounin-level" prowess means either: A.) Pierrot doesn't correctly remember Part 1 or B.) the barrier caused Shikamaru to lose some of his intelligence. I'm sorry, but that's simply not correct; by Kidoumaru's own admission the Sound Four combined in their fully powered Cursed Seal states could just barely manage to defeat two wearied Special Jounin. They were Chuunin-level ninja at their absolute best. Aside from the studio's attempt at retconning skill levels, the episode in general was dragged out. I appreciate the explanation of how this new barrier works, but in between those snippets of information the only thing to see is Shikamaru and friends not making any real progress. "Guys, let's just try to survive or something I dunno". The previous episode was better all around. Aesthetic Rating: 3/5 Story Rating: 2/5 Overall Score: 5/10 |

To be fair, the episode before this shows that they were able to kill, incapitate and even paralyze a handful of Chunnin-leveled ninja effortlessly and individually. They're somewhat on the level of lower-leveled Jounin or High Ranked Chunnin. |

You're right, but my issue is purely with Shikamaru stating they had that level of ability before their deaths. According to Tayuya, they're much stronger and their techniques are more potent than before thanks to Kabuto's experimentation - that's why they're able to wipe out so many alliance ninja. Some people suggest that Shikamaru's assessment was referring to their strength as a group as opposed to individually, but that's the only alternative that makes sense. It could also be a mistranslation (but personally I doubt it). There's something else that bothers me. Kabuto clarified two episodes ago that they were resurrected to stall for time so Muu can summon "that", yet they're nowhere near Muu's location. Unless this stunt manages to distract Gaara's division, I fail to see how they're possibly providing any assistance there. |
